but that is expensive. I would go to a grocery store for that. Although, there is something cozy about buying everything you need for dinner at your local convenience store. Even more cozy when it is 3 a.m and you make something with everything bought from the local. I lived in a couple of places within a 2 minute walk from 24 hour places. 7-11 kind of baffles me. Ever since they stopped selling hard liquor I can't see why anyone would go there with any regularity. Their stuff is so much more expensive than it ought to be, I guess with the exception of shit like 40oz, 4Lokos, I think those and cigarettes are probably like 90 percent of their business, right? I mean if you go there for a case of soda or a loaf of bread you're basically getting ass-fucked, which is ironic since they thrive mostly in poor areas. I think I've been into a 7-11 maybe 4 or 5 times in the past 4 years. I used to work at a 7-11 in Michigan. It was in a college town so the customers were mostly middle to upper class white people buying beer, slurpees, energy drinks, and cigarettes. EVERYTHING was overpriced, and the store was not as nice as the gas stations in the area.

I learned that the reason why everything was more expensive is that the company that owned most of the 7-11 franchises also owned the wholesaler, so the franchising company was selling overpriced goods to its own stores and the franchisees. It is similar to McDonald's or any other franchise only that 7-11 didn't have many proprietary products.

Now most 7-11s I see are old and nasty with a bland selection of overpriced garbage. They are competing with grocery stores, gas stations, liquor stores, drug stores, dollar stores, and fast food with no differentiating feature.
