Yes, your taste buds are dead. Aspartame has a really nasty aftertaste to it. In addition, I find that it gives drinks an "empty" taste. I'm not sure how to describe it better, that's just my experience. It just doesn't feel right in my mouth.

Maybe. I did a research paper on this in college, what I found was, essentially, we don't really know. Some studies say this, some say that, but there hasn't been enough research for a definitive answer.

My personal take is that drinking it all day every day probably isn't the best idea. I don't give a shit either way though, because all artificial sweeteners taste like chemical garbage and I don't drink that shit.

If I'm really jonesing a coke, which doesn't happen often, then I'll just drink a "Mexican" one because I'm young and in shape and one soda every few months aint gonna kill me.

They do.

They own the Mexican facilities producing Mexican coke, which they charge for the same price for less soda. They also released "Coca Cola Life" which uses Sugar and Stevia instead of HFCS a year ago.
