Too many cutlets, too much bread, not enough sauce.

At least give a little cup of sauce on the side for dipping. This is just a mouthful of bread.

Judging by the color of the meat that is clearly chicken. Breaded, fried, topped with sauce and cheese. Chicken parmesan.

Do you honestly think that's a "lasagne" sandwich?

I literally haven't. I grew up in a backwater northern Canadian town.
I've only lived in a big city for a few years now.

Well. If you're in an area where they're likely to have good chicken parms, treat yourself to one. Make sure you go to a quality place that uses actual cutlets (shit places use patties).

No doubt CT has its own special kind of Italian heroes. Good hot dogs, too. And fried clams.

Did you see this?

I thought it was good, though I'm looking forward to when they do a serious run north for subs.

The sauce is glopping down onto the foil. Looks like plenty to me.

Nice article. I've been to many of the places they listed - they picked some good ones. Blackie's relish makes the whole place worth it (they sell it in jars for $6 each). Capitol Lunch has the best meat sauce I've had anywhere, tastes like cloves and allspice. Doogie's has some interesting options and is a convenient visit from Hartford. Ted's steamed cheeseburgers I happen to love, though I know they're not for everyone. Louis' Lunch burgers are the best ever argument against ketchup: the whole point of the burger is to focus on the meat, which is a secret blend of like five different cuts, and it's freaking delicious.

I too look forward to their pizza and grinder coverage.

As do I. That guy Sietsema is one of my favorite food writers. All he does is cruise around looking for interesting things to eat, then write about them, often going into the history of how they came to be here.

I only drive through CT a couple times a year, but knowing where to stop for the best grinders would be useful.

Then have I got a thread for you: http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/Connecticut-grinders-m752482.aspx

It goes on forever, but it names tons of places, has tons pictures, and has some pretty articulate reviews. As a CTfag myself I can especially recommend Franklin Giant Grinder in Hartford (for chicken cutlets, with the Wethersfield Pizza House a very close second), Carbone's in Torrington (for coldcuts or really anything). There are loads of grinder shops in this state, but if you only have time for a couple, I'd make it those.

The word is "blind". He saw white stripes and assumed pasta when it's clearly overcooked chicken.

Thanks for the tips. I live in Brooklyn, but have family in Plymouth, so the drive through CT happens every now and then. If I have to eat food on the road I'd rather avoid bullshit chains when I know there is some seriously good shit not too far out of my way.

It's kinda hard to make breaded fried chicken cutlets dry when they're cut thin. The breading holds plenty of grease.

>> No.6598622

>>6598558

That isn't what make meat dry you stupid fucking autist. You can have both dry meat and soggy, greasy shit breading, faggot.

Dry meat is defined by meat cooked beyond the temperature for which it is ideal, usually by a factor of 10-15°F, if not more. What this does is render out a lot of the fat and natural juices of the meat, leaving it drier, more fibrous, and overall more shitty.

So just because your obese, gaping maw of garbage-inhaling can't discern when meat is overcooked, doesn't mean that it isn't, you piece of human garbage.

Could also just be 'cause I love tomato sauce too.
