I know it's gonna sound gross, but I make burgers topped with granny smith apple slices I run through my mandolin, a slice of smoked cheddar and some kimchi, in that order. Patty, apple, cheese, kimchi.
It's so. Fucking. Good.

I love a black n bleu. That crust of black pepper and the silky smooth and piquant blue cheese. Esp good with a garlic toasted bun, and sliced red onion.

My favorite Shula burger is "wine country" which is simply sweet tomato-balsamic dressed meslun greens on top of goat cheese and roasted red pepper. Has a potato or egg kaiser, I forget.
At Flannigan's, a local chain in Miami, I get the "texas" burger, which has a mountain of crispy tumbleweed (buttermilk) onion rings, blue cheese, and buffalo sauce.
At Rokbrgr,I can't get enough of the maple bourbon bacon jam or caramelized onion.
At ShakeShack, I can't get enough of the deep fried portabella on top of the burger.
At cheesecake factory, there is a seemingly decadent deep-fried mac-n-cheese ball topped burger, but the really good one has a chili relleno pepper on top, with that gush of melted cheese and crispiness when you bite down. The pepper is charred inside. Awesome.
At Ray's Hell Burger (ArlingtonVA), gotta have the drippy juicy gelatinous bone marrow topping with hint of persillade to make a burger have amplified beef flavor. The truffled fois gras is better if you love liver like I do.

But #1....This is the cuban "Frita" burger you can get all around miami at opposing competitive restaurants such as Rey de las Fritas. The beef patty is mixed with chorizo for a paprika and cumin hit. But, the best is that it's on a light and cracker crusted cuban bread roll, and features little shoestring potatoes on top or deep fried mushy sweet plantains (maduros). This might be hit with a little hot sauce, so you get the sweet and hot going on along with the crispy and soft texture balance. You can get a fried egg too, been doing it that for 40 years, not because of hipsters. This is a perfect crave-able creation.

Teriyaki burgers with grilled pineapple are pretty damn good. But my favorite is just a bacon cheese burger with lettuce n tomato
