Though a fruit, I use unripe papaya as a culinary vegetable. I like the shred it up and use it in place of cabbage for making a sauerkraut-like food thing.
Cubed, it's nice in soups.
I use it in place of icicle radish when making the slaw for banh mi (this combo of papaya and carrot is called nyom lhong). Of course, it's all used in papaya salad (bok lhong).

But ripe, it is one of the absolute most ghastly things to ever exist and everlasting proof that if there is a god, he doesn't love us.

Ripe mango is the best, especially if it has been allowed to ripen while still on the tree.
Mangosteen, litchie, pineapple & nashee pears are also great.
Honorable mention to the banana, because it's so handy as a quick, easy snack.

atemoya is a pineapple/sugar-apple hybrid. it's too expensive (even in countries where it grows) and inconvenient to eat frequently, but it is pretty much ecstasy in fruit form.

I remember as a kid I lived near a canal, on the way to school in the summer I'd walk along the canal and I'd always pick a few blackberries from the bushes and eat them.

I love most fruits but I think Ataulfo mangoes take the cake.

I ate one so delicious one time my brain literally turned off because of the effusion of pleasure flooding my senses. And no stringy texture like Tommy Atkins, smooth and luscious.
