slushes are good; get whatever flavor seems good, i have never had a bad one. milkshakes are too damn sweet imo. other ice cream treats are good.

hamburgers are whatever. tater tots are good. some people obsess over the coney dogs but they don't impress me. can't say i've eaten much else in terms of hot food there.

It's all about the drinks, just remember that. Hope you get lucky and find the right combination the first time around. It's one of those places where there's a few thousand different combinations you can do with the drinks.

Sonic is overpriced as fuck, and the food is only okay. I wouldn't say it's bad food, but fuck me paying 8-9 dollars for a medium combo with a slushie is just too much money.

I say you get a cherry limeade and a medium tater tot, should only be 4-5 dollars and you'll enjoy the two best things on their menu. You can replace cherry limeade with your drink of choice of course, but I love cherry limeade.

Burgers aren't good.

Get a breakfast burrito, a large tots with cheese and onion, a lime creamslush and an ocean water.

I also like the hot fudge shake -- not chocolate, hot fudge.

The burgers are mediocre at best. The hot dogs aren't bad, the breakfast stuff is usually pretty decent. They have a shit ton of drinks. Their milkshakes are good, but it depends on what flavor you get. Last time I was there I had some sort of spicy chicken strips that were delicious, but I was also inebriated, so take that with a grain of salt.

Outside of drinks and dessert, in my experience the best food that they have is the jumbo popcorn chicken. Everything else is fairly mediocre, it's really more of a drink/dessert place.
