Yeah, brain contains a shit ton of cholesterol - maintaining our own brain matter is the only thing we need dietary cholesterol for IIRC.

That's pleb tier cringe food. I've been to parts of Asia and tried all the foods the Orient has to offer, both good and bad. Come back when you've had stinky tofu, durain, or thousand year egg and THEN make your food cringe thread.

>> No.6525838

Maybe you should post some of those things instead of showing off on an anonymous website. Posters like you are terrible.

>lists three extremely popular, unremarkable foods

congrats, out of the combined food culture of an entire continent you have not named a single unique thing. keep calling op pleb though

>unremarkable

Have you tasted or even smelled any of them? They're a whole world of their own. I've tried stuff like turtle jelly, roast pigeon, and various traditional Chinese medicine soups, but they're nothing compared to stinky tofu.

The cringe aspect was the cholesterol content. The fact of eating offal isn't cringe. We've probably all tried brains. I bet most of us have been to our local Chinatown and tried at least one of your three exotic experiences, too. I wouldn't add any of those to a cringe thread.

>> No.6525940

I've tried all of them but never fresh durian, only frozen. this city has a massive taiwanese population and they sell stinky tofu at monthly markets made fresh

taste wise I would rank them century egg, stinky tofu (fried), durian. likewise for odor I think. I have a hard time believing fresh durian would be notably better than frozen. century egg isn't all that offensive to me when used sparingly

>> No.6525943

>>6525940

er, not likewise for odor, opposite I mean. smell is durian > stinky tofu > egg

Damn, worst I've done is chicken feet and scorpions. Look to the mainland Chinese and Pinoys to eat balut and small mice.

I don't give a fuck about the cholesterol. I give a fuck that last time I bought that product it was full of fucking bones, I presume skull, making it impossible to just fry.
