Are there any websites that teach how to cook simple, healthy and cheap meals for one person.

I live in a shared house, work evenings and have a small cupboard, I mainly eat shop sandwiches. I have no idea how to improve ability. Whenever i google simply recipes it always ends up requiring 30 mins prep and rare ingredients like paprika. I really need help.

Alternatively is there a list of canned food I can eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner that will cover all my dietry needs?.

I don't want to spend all Sunday cooking. I also don't know what to cook huge batches off. I assume mince meat and potato?

When I was archaeologising I ate only salads, from a wok. I recommend this as it does not require cooking, unless you desire bacon, or eggs.
Bacon, eggs, fried bread and black pudding is also good.

But in all seriousness, make some stew that can keep for the week. Every Sunday or something, make another batch. I know it will take time, but anything worth it will take time, and you can trust what you cook for yourself to be healthier than anything you will find in a can. As someone working towards a more /fit/ lifestyle, I will impart to you my recipe of what I call "The Knights Lifter's Pottage." What you need is:

- 8 Cups of Chicken Stock (Might be good to keep 4 extra cups on hand just in case)
- 1 Head of Coliflour
- 1 Stalk of Broccoli
- 1 Leek
- 1 Large Carrot
- 1 Small Bundle of Spinach
- 1 Medium or Large Yellow Onion
- 2 Chicken Breasts
- 1 Cup of Old Fashioned Oats
- 1 Cup of Lentils (Green, French, or Black are best)
- Olive Oil (Or any cooking oil really)
- 1 Scoop of Unflavored Protein Powder (Optional)
- Spices; such as Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Soy Sauce, etc to taste.

Step 1: Cut up the vegetables and chicken into bite sized chunks.
OPTIONAL: Brine the chicken for an hour. Pic related is how you do it. I recommend it.

Step 2: Pour chicken stock into a large pot and set the heat on stove to medium. Pour in oats and lentils as well into the pot, and sprinkle as many spices into the mix as you like.

Step 3: Put chicken and onion into frying pan with cooking oil and whatever spices you like and fry them up over medium heat. Once the chicken breast is white, the mixture is ready.

Step 4: With chicken/onion blend fried, put it into the pot. Proceed to put all of the other vegetables into the pot as well. The stock level should be barely above the solid ingredient level. If not, use the extra stock you have to level it out. With all ingredients in the pot, proceed to put in more spices if you like, and keep the pot on medium or high heat until the stew bubbles and boils. Once done, turn heat to simmer and close the lid of the pot.

Step 5: Keep the lid closed for about 10 or 15 more minutes, or when the lentils are soft.

Enjoy!

Why do you think you need to cook for one?

Just make the "family size" service and eat it over the course of the week..
