best case: high quality bratwurst (or beef-bratwurst) with a homemade tomatobased-curry ketchup. in some regions they serve caramelised onions to it aswell. fries or a bun are normally served aswell.

worst and most predominant case: low tier supermarket bratwurst with storebought curry ketchup and frozen fries.disgusting.

if you are visiting berlin or the ruhrgebiet (essen/aachen etc.) your chances are better to get a decent qualitiy currywurst.

I thought it was impossible to make a truly terrible Döner until I got one from a cheap place in my town. It was literally a huge layer of dry meat, a layer of Krautsalat (I don't think it has an English translation), a layer of onions and a layer of tzatziki. It was impossible to eat without getting pure tzaziki all over your face and at the end all you had was bread with dry meat.
I also never had a truly terrible Currywurst and I prefer Dürüm over Döner anyway.
Döner is really good but definitely not God Tier for me.
