Have you ever won an argument on /ck/?

>> No.6513922

Most, but I've stepped in it, a time or two. And I really rip holes in people's universe on /pol/.

On /pol/, I've made myself look idiotic for not looking up a country's flag before I posted, which is half-assed of me, because I almost always research the subject before I post. I'm usually a high-strung hurried kind of person, but still...not knowing the flag beforehand is sloppy.

Once when I was a newbie here, I bickered w/a copy pasta post.

>> No.6513956

I don't argue so much as ridicule. I rarely present an opposing viewpoint. I just mock people for having X, Y or Z point of view without presenting one of my own. I've yet to ever be called out on it. People will assume I support some other opinion, but having never actually stated one, they get upset when I continue to mock their point despite them supposedly proving me wrong (how you can prove something wrong when I never made any claim, I'll never understand).

And I don't even ridicule or mock in a witty way, either.
Someone will say something like
>X is the best food to eat with Y
and I'll respond something like
>that's fucking stupid and so are you
Then they'll defend X with Y, attack putting Z with Y (even though I didn't say anything about Z with Y) and express his butthurt in a 500 word essay.
To which, I'll respond with something like
>X with Y still isn't good and you still have shit tastes

Then they'll get more pissy or just be quiet.

When I do argue, I generally win but have had my anus handed me a few times, too. When that happens, I apologise for the argument.

Why can't you? You have people that argue with feelings, and then you have those that debate with facts...it most certainly is achievable.

>> No.6514021

>>6513898
Yes. But the problem is that arguments here (and I mean 4chan in general) tend to devolve into manbaby insults, so usually it gets to the point where I just stop responding. I have shut down a few threads in my time here, just by posting enough facts and logic that even the shitposters stop. But that's few and far between. And sometimes even I'm guilty of being a tard, and egging people on by posting goofy, insulting shit. It's a disease with no cure except total abstinence.

I keep a checklist of all arguments I've won on /ck/.

You probably have some mental checklist, you probably have vivid memories and can recite arguments you have had in the past. It makes no difference if I like to see the results in black and white.

The last time I argued against someone on /ck/ was about the location of South Korea.
And I was called autistic at the end of it eventhough I was right. Gave up arguing ever since then.

What would a ck argument look like?

It's best to use cold water when boiling water versus hot water?

400 degrees is the best temperature for frozen pizzas, not 450?

Joey is the best food reviewer, not Ken?

>> No.6516646

I see myself as "winning" every "argument" on /ck/, in that I'm never shown to be incorrect in a satisfactory way. Most of the time I never even get what I want. I tend to consider them conversations, I have no desire debate. But a blunt argument is not out of the question.

The arguments I "lose" are ones that more or less, from the beginning, are known to resolve to core axiomatic differences that for all we know might be genetically predisposed or even hardwired. The loss is from even taking part despite almost certainly knowing the outcome in advance.

I have won political arguments many times, along with other conceptual stuff, but since Im 19, all the arguments Ive been in dont change people's perspective or opinion, they usually just run out of rhetoric to spout while Im still poking holes in their argument, they just get angry.
