Andouille cooked in a spicy crab boil with some onions and potatoes. Food of the gods

I want to try some spicy sausages, I'm looking up on Google now but I'd appreciate any recommendations from /ck/. I live in an Asian country so I probably have to shell out some cash because only high-end groceries sell them.

welcome to Finland, where all the traditional food looks like literal shit.

ya'll probably knew about mämmi but how about directly translated "black sausages"?

Fuck I was going to make a dick joke, but it seems this thread is sorta on topic.

Haven't really had any really good sausage. Best stuff I can get regularly is dried landjaeger, and those are just at a local grocery store.

I've gotta drive 40 minutes to get to a decent butcher and I don't know any of the farmers in my area.

I grew up in an area with a high concentration of Poles and Slavs. Kielbasa, Klobase, Gyulai and a bunch of others. Some of those and some Pierogis always makes me think of my childhood.

I live in New England now. Portugese chorizo is pretty easy to find, and is really good.

also chorizo seems to have other meaning in various slangs. Like:

penis (how original)
thief/mugger/crook
foolish person
corruption
thefty
stuck up
haughty

For delicious sausage it has quite ugly meanings.

A new Cajun/Creole butcher shop /finally/ opened up in my area, which makes me real fucking happy since I live in Yankeeland.

I bought some of their andouille on Wednesday and will be cooking it up either tonight or tomorrow night. If it's good, I will shop from this butcher always and forever.
I asked the owner about stocking Community Coffee. Hopefully, the request hasn't fallen on deaf ears.

Butcher shop sausages:
Either Neapolitan ball-shaped sausages from a shop on via Cilea near via Santa Maria della Libera in Naples or my homemade fish sausages.

Store bought sausages:
Aldi sells these sausages they call "Bavarian sausage" that taste like a cross between smoked bockwurst, debrecener and Krainer wurst.

Chorizo is a Spanish sausage. Not Mexican, not Chinese, Spanish.

That's like saying you had American Parmezan.

You stupid, stupid fuck.

>> No.6511044

>>6511006
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorizo#Mexican_chorizo

You're a dumbass who thinks they're not one. Mexican chorizo is a soft sausage while spanish is dried and hard.

>> No.6511081

>>6511006
Not him but dear me: you're quite the dullard, aren't you?

For one, there's no cheese called "parmezan" if you're speaking English. If you're a filthy Eastern European, there is. But if you're a filthy Eastern European, you've little room to be calling anyone else "stupid," stupid. You lot thought communism was a good idea, after all.

Secondly, there is indeed a Mexican chorizo. It uses different meat, an entirely different process, a wholly dissimilar set of spices and is generally cooked and served in rather unSpanish ways. The reason it's called "chorizo" is simply the fact that Mexico's national language is Spanish.

Similarly, while the word "horchata" refers to a drink made from a syrup of brewed bitter almond and barley mixed with cold water in most of the world, in Mexico and countries with significant populations of Mexicans or Mexican influence, 'horchata' refers to a drink that's most like rice milk, but flavoured with cinnamon. Despite its origins, Mexican horchata has little in common with its Old World progenitor beyond its name. Likewise, despite its origins, Mexican chorizo has little in common with its Old World progenitor beyond its name.

Now, stop being wrong and enjoy the site quietly.

So Mexico rips off the names of superior European goods, you really are American.

>> No.6511110

I gave the long explanation above and no: I am not an American. I'm an European.

So you're 0 for 2 at this point. Care to make a third entirely wrong statement or is your double dose of salty enough for you today?

The best non-blood sausage I've had was in City Cork. There was a gourmet sausage vendor at the English market that served these amazing pork sausages in various ways. After a quick search, I think the company was O' Flynn's.

Best I ever had was in my high school physics class. For one of our electricity demos, our teacher hooked up some Vienna beef weiners to some suicide wires.

They were the juiciest hotdogs I ever had
