Whats your favorite glassware for beer? I know that - for the most part - it does not matter much, but I love to drink my beer out of cool and different shaped glasses.

Whats your favorites. Leave the standard pint glass. You'll never go back.

Pint glass is alright though it's a bitch to clean sometimes

And for some reason I can never get a truly clean glass, there's always dirt or some substance on it that affects the flavor of the beer, is there any way to solve this?

Refrain from using soap. Use scolding hot water, and rinse it a lot. If you have a filter on your faucet, use filtered water for the final rinses. Try to use the soft side of the sponge to avoid scratching. Don't put it in the dishwasher or soak it with other dishes that had food on it. Use a clean towel to dry the outside and let the inside air dry.

Thanks, lately I've been getting some off flavors in my beers and it was really starting to bug me

I've been using that dish soap that's really oily, I guess that's where the residue was coming from

Man, I hate drinking out of a Weizen glass. It's so tall and goofy looking. It's also the hardest to clean right.

I went to a bar before a basegame game and it was infuriating getting served everything in these goofy ass things.

I'm drinking an IPA out of this RIGHT NOW

Glassware matters. As far as taste and smell are concerned you can even prove this to yourself by drinking the same beer, but in a different glass either side by side or one after another. You will notice at least a slight difference.

There is also the aesthetic appeal of drinking out of a nice glass, it improves your drinking experience thus improving your enjoyment of the beer or whatever. Some say it is wrong to buy and drink out of fancy expensive glasses or to be super specific and picky about glassware, but fuck them, I love crystal/glassware.

Not my pic, but this is what I use for anything I care about the flavor of if I don't have something more appropriate to drink out of. I got it touring their brewery a couple years back. It's a little wider than a normal tulip, but stll concentrates flavors up so it makes for a good all around tasting glass. I have a pretty good selection of beer glasses, but most are novelties (lagunitas mason jar glass, saint arnold water cooler glass) or very specific (goofy ass spiral bottom ipa glass).

>standard pint glass.
FYI they're called "mixing glasses". They're what bartenders use with a shaker.

I absolutely hate them for drinking beer. I have one in my house because it was a gift from Pike Brewery.

My collection is pretty meager and I have to use a wine glass for some beers because I haven't bought a proper tulip.

Anything but a mixing glass, please.

>> No.6503541

>>6503525
They're also called pint glasses. Because they hold a pint of liquid and are the international standard for beer.

They're not very good for beer drinking, but you're clearly a sperg.

Not a sperg. I work at a brew pub (a very large one). I do all the ordering. Libbey's and other glass makers list them as mixing glasses, not pint glasses. That's all I meant.
Of course, the vernacular is "pint glass". I was just trying to be informative/noting something that might be interesting trivia for someone.

Haven't we learned by now? Infographics about entire classifications of beverage are always wrong, always misleading, always badly thought out, and need to be destroyed with fire. Just use google and read.

Why do people hate words when they're not jazzed up with bright colors and shapes? You're like those people who email me at work and ask for help, and I take the trouble to respond to them, and they say "this is way too confusing" but what they mean is "words on the screen hurt me"
