From what I remember hearing, the lemon (or lime if so inclined) is added to the bottle so that the citric acid can cleanse the rim of the bottle as well as the bottleneck that is above the beer-line.

You're definitely not only paying for the fagit direct advertising on that one, but also for the conversational advertising and shit that they pay others for. For instance, go into a bar at an airport, the bartender there will come and before anyone has a chance to say anything he or she will spit out "sam adams?" How about fucking no.

That leading shit is annoying especially for a shit beer. Some fagit with a marketing degree, maybe nyu or hofstra thought of that one and it's pathetic, but then that's why they went to shit schools like those in the first place.

I took my 70 year old dad to my neighborhood #slowfood #gastropub and he asked for a Guinness. He usually drinks stuff like Rogue or Stone or Anchor Steam or whatever else was common back when good beer started becoming really ubiquitous, sometimes Hitachino because he is a big weeb, but for some reason he's got a thing about Guinness when he's traveling.

Anyway the smug, beardy, tattooed bartender wearing a $150 "workwear" shirt probably made by APC or something told him guinness is no good and he should have a Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout instead. And without even asking, he started pouring the Nitro, which of course I paid for.

Hoodwinked again by Big Craft. When will this insidious craft beer marketing finally stop?

You should respect your dad, he's 70 and might not be around so much longer. Think of questions to ask him, hell man, I wish that my father and grandparents were around, then I could ask questions of them too. He's an undertipper as older people tend to be, and this time I didn't add more when he was looking the other way. So effectively the bartender got undertipped, and I got my plausible deniability for the next time I had to go back.

This. I remember the early campaigns in the 80's, when it was practically marketed as the symbol of Spring Break debauchery in Cancun. Drinking Corona with lime was a status symbol; it showed you had the kind of worldliness that comes from international pleasure travel (even if you'd never left the country).

It worked really fucking well. AB In-Bev makes pots of money on the Corona brand. People will repeatedly choose it over better beer simply because they identify with the brand.
