Does anyone put spices in their omelets? I just put salt in mine and then pepper on it afterwards, but I'd like to know if there's anything else that goes good in them, spice-wise.

Gordon Ramsey told me that pre-salting eggs destroys them

Try some herbs de provence

I think I remember that Alton Brown told me that you must pre-salt your eggs.

maybe if I was making french style scrambled eggs
but for omelets I just let the ingredient I put inside bring the flavors
for omelets, the egg brings texture

You could use some cajun mix. Som cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic, onion, chili pepper flakes, and some thyme.

>> No.6471890

Cumin and a bit of garlic salt.

Oh that's a good idea, I've got some of the premixed stuff in my cabinet right now.

Alton Brown in his arrogance dictated to blow snot rockets on the omelettes, make sure to do that just as you put the eggies on the pan, that way the snot rockets can form with the eggs.

I don't personally, but my friend Sid's family is from south India and, back in school, I ate dinner at his family's once and his grandmother prepared some omelettes with tomato and prawns flavoured with shallots, chillies and various spices.
We ate them with rice and chickpeas.

Did you get the proper poo food treatment?
That's why I didnt marry an indian chick I went out with, the arrogance was pathetic and all the food looked like poo.

The caste shit doesn't work too well here either and they're prone to joining weird ass cults and I wont have that in my family.

That's the cool thing, try it all out and find stuff we like. That Thai shark brand sriracha is really good, it's a few orders of mangitude above rooster brand, imo.

His family are Malabar Catholics so no caste system beyond "marry at least another Catholic, preferably Eastern Rite, most preferably a Syriac Catholic or Malabar Catholic."

That's why they ate eggs. Hindus ain't generally down with oophagy.

Colmans is top kek, I've heard of others but Colmans is easy to get at least here in the states. For the Shark brand, this company is good, don't buy their fresh products because they suck but for packaged goods they're pretty good and are honest. They also have some really good recipies on their website.

Cheers

I don't give a shit about hindus or their arrogant bullshit here in the USA. They can piss off for all I care. If they were so great they wouldn't need to come to the USA, derp derp.

Everything points to IndianfriendAnon not being in the US so not only does your dislike for stateside Hindus have nothing to do with food, it's entirely irrelevant to those posts, as well.
