So toothpaste makes me gag and is pretty much the grossest thing I have in my mouth each day. I tried all the possible fucking flavors and they're all terrible. I don't know what it is, for a long time when I was a kid I stopped brushing my teeth cause I couldn't handle it. After years of making sure my teeth look great (dentist visits, whitenings, brushing and flossing...) I still can't get used to the flavor. I have one toothpaste which I can tolerate but every time I try a different kind or brand I want to vomit.

I hate all foods with mint, except mint itself which I enjoy adding to my drinks or on top of food. I'd love to change this because I travel a lot and my favorite toothpaste is not available everywhere. You think there's a way to change or am I fucked for life?

You've tried stuff like cinnamon, ginger and fennel, or just every type of mint?

Tried the chocolate flavored Crest? That's all my son will use because he finds big boy toothpaste nasty and hates all the kid flavors.

I blame his grandma for slipping him chocolates.

Cinnamon toothpaste is the single worst thing I've ever had in my mouth in my entire life. Never tried ginger or fennel but I tried some other non-mint flavors and they weren't that great. I think the texture of the toothpaste has something to do with it but I have issues with pastes, gels and any other types so I don't know what else to try.

>>6423417
Never even seen that anywhere in stores. However I would genuinely love to just get used to a mint flavor if possible. For society's sake I guess...

Fennel toothpaste is pretty great if you like black licorice. If you can get past the fact that it feels like you're brushing with candy, it's way better than mint.

OP, toothpaste isn't essential for good dental hygiene.

Just brush with water, but be diligent about it. (3 times a day if you can). Flossing well also helps.

They sell it in Florida, so it's not just in a tester market. They also have a lime mint one, I assume it's like a mojito flavor, but they don't want that connection with their products.

Have you used it? I've seen it and I'm curious about it because I fucking hate toothpaste. Love mint but hate toothpaste. Chocolate flavored things are usually shitty so I've been hesitant to waste the money on it.

I did buy the orange mouthwash and it's pretty foul. After the foulness goes away it has a slightly not so terrible aftertaste that reminds me of something I can't place.

Yeah both my wife and I have used it. Tastes like mint chocolate to us, but then again we both like mint chocolate. All of the Crest flavorings taste like their real-world bases in my book. P&G clearly did their research.

The only issue I can cite is that although they all taste exactly like you'd expect based on the labels, some of the flavors (looking at you vanilla mint) aren't flavor combinations I would make if I were cooking up the recipes.

Sounds more psychosomatic than just not having found the right brand. Not really sure how this is /ck/, but work up from using a tiny bit? You only need to use a drop to be effective anyway, that giant turd on the brush they show in adverts is just for the sake of looking good.

Crest has a new line of flavored toothpaste. I have the vanilla one right now because it was on sale.

the best toothpaste is colgate total. The antibacterial agent, triclosan, does an amazing job at killing bacteria in the both and preventing cavities and gum disease.

>> No.6424503

>>6424453
eh

Triclosan is not currently known to be hazardous to humans. But several scientific studies have come out since the last time FDA reviewed this ingredient that merit further review.
Animal studies have shown that triclosan alters hormone regulation. However, data showing effects in animals don’t always predict effects in humans. Other studies in bacteria have raised the possibility that triclosan contributes to making bacteria resistant to antibiotics.

In light of these studies, FDA is engaged in an ongoing scientific and regulatory review of this ingredient. FDA does not have sufficient safety evidence to recommend changing consumer use of products that contain triclosan at this time.

You're supposed to wait 30 minutes after eating before you brush. Don't know where I've heard that but it's what I heard. You're also supposed to wait 30 minutes after brushing before you eat again or drink things that aren't water.

I usually end up doing something else and forgetting completely though.

There's nothing wrong with brushing your teeth right after eating. If the thought really bothers you, rinse your mouth out with water first. Bacteria gets to work the moment food is in your mouth, and if you eat for 30 minutes and wait 30 minutes before brushing, the bacteria has been working on your teeth and gums for a a whole hour.

Eating (especially acidic foods) weakens enamel, allowing you to brush it away a little bit if you brush your teeth within 30 minutes after. Over time you'll end up removing much of your enamel if you do this frequently enough. On the other hand, apart from eating after brushing tasting absolutely disgusting, there's no harm to it.
