I haven't had lemon curd for years. I overdid it with some lemon curd tarts when I was a kid and went right off it.

My French friend refers to marmalade as "that English trick".

Nutella's just one of those generic trademarks like tannoy or hoover, I guess.

Apparently it's the 75th anniversary this year according to some advert I saw on the telly in which I learnt that they roast the nuts before they make it.

I have never actually eaten nutella. It looks nasty to me, but it's basically the same as peanut butter with some chocolate in it, isn't it?

Nah, It's pretty much chocolate but it's made with cocoa and hazelnut so it has a hazelnut aftertaste. It's pretty nice with peanut butter, or frozen. Also not a bad sugar fix when you're a kid when you need the extra glucose because your brain is running so inefficiently.

/ck/ conned me into buying a jar, presenting it as some kinda hazelnut spread but it's actually just chocolate flavored chocolate.

If you're 9 years old you'll probably love it but if you're an adult, don't bother.

I enjoy it homemade...

1 c Hazelnuts, roasted on baking pan, 350°F, 12 minutes
Load Hazelnuts into towel when cooled and rub vigorously to remove as much loose skin as possible.
12 oz milk chocolate chips, melted and stirred until smooth
Add the following to the blender and puree until as smooth as possible:
Roasted hazelnuts
melted chocolate
2 tbps Coconut Oil
3 tbps confectioners sugar
1 tbps unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 tsp salt

Blend thoroughly, pour into mason jars with lids. Mixture will cool and set into peanut butter consistency overnight. Everyone (adults included) who has tried it prefers it to the store-bought brand.
