I would put cane's sauce on a lot of different shit (the recipe is easy)

but the objective best? I'd say mayo simply because so many different sauces use it as a main base

which brings me to the real culprit for all best sauces: vinegar

Well, supermarket BBQ sauce is all almost the same anyway. Consumer Reports Magazine did a blind taste test in... I think it was 2013. Winner by a narrow margin, beating out all pre-packaged, pre-made BBQ sauces available in 'Murican supermarkets? The generic store brand that Wal-Mart sells.

Get a can of tomato paste, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, crushed cayenne pepper flakes, and a few cloves of garlic, and make your own. I've even made my own from ketchup, vinegar, liquid smoke seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper when I've been in a hurry.

Typically japanese mayo is made with apple cider vinegar and uses more yolk. It's more like a sauce than regular mayo is.

Kewpie mayo like another anon said is mostly made with more yolk.
It's got less of a sweet taste and more of a sour/bitter(?) taste, it's not either of those but it's hard to describe.

Absolute fucking god tier in any tune/egg/chicken salad holy fuck, avoid sandwiches or things that are a multitude of tastes and not a singular taste.
