or
Hot Indian or Thai curries (with either a mango lassi or chai, or Thai tea)
or
Scrambled eggs, with toast and orange juice

Hangovers usually make my stomach more sensitive to greasy and acidic stuff so I try to avoid.

Water or gatorade with scrambled eggs and toast for some substance.

It is an ancient and known fact:
the Romans used to eat cabbage during and after an orgy, because it helps absorbing alcohol.
I think that it is still the custom in the East to chew cabbage after excessive vodka.

So yes, Anon, coleslaw is still an old friend of yours.

I once heard on a tv show that the perfect cure for a hangover is to drink a can of tomato juice, suck on a lemon and smoke three cigarettes.

>> No.6398803

start with a tall glass of cold water and an aspirin/tylenol, if that's staying down, have a tall glass of iced-tea, then start cooking something greasy, carb loaded, salty - eggs, bacon, taters, and toast. Capsaicin helps as well, temporarily, but not if you're afraid you're going to hurl. Eat this breakfast with coffee and chocolate, either together like a mocha, or just dark chocolate and a coffee. The caffeine will help your head, but not your dehydration, so follow this up with another glass of water.

If you're feeling brave, have a cold beer after this breakfast/brunch... not immediately, but somewhere soon after.

If you're peckish during the day, ramen is your friend - salt, water, and carbs.

If you're still hungover by dinner, aim for something spicy, with more carbs. If your buddies are still around, and still hungover, drink lots of water or iced tea while cooking dinner, before serving dinner have a small bit of alcohol with citrus and a bit of salt (tequila is the obvious choice here), with dinner, have another cold beer. Maintain a buzz, drink lots of water - DO NOT GET DRUNK - and get a solid 7+ hours of sleep.

>>6398803
not OP but if I drink coffee when hungover it gets 100 times worse

also, the only correct answer is aspirin. If it's so bad that even aspirin won't help, drink more alcohol (but instead of aspirin obvs, not after).

As far as greasy, carb-loaded foods go, I just like to run by a nearby Moe's and get a burrito or stack or something. If it's a lesser hangover it will kill it right away.

Has anybody had any success with Alka-Seltzer before? I've never actually tried it, and I've always wondered if it's legit for hangovers or if it's just marketing.

Milk. I drank milk and it helps a lot. As for food, I don't know why but I prefer greasy food if I'm a little hung over and like no food at all if I'm very hung over. Just milk. I like eggs, bacon and hashbrowns hung over too.

I can never get myself to eat when I'm hung over. I usually end up doing the old "hair of the dog that bit you" which I know is bad, but I get hungry when I drink, so just a couple beers and my appetite comes back, then I stop drinking and keep hydrating. Usually seems to work for me

Feeling very hungover I once made smoked salmon scrambled eggs on a slice of buttered toast and drank a couple beers mixed with clamato juice. Downed a few extra strength advils after that and i've never had a hangover dissipate so much in my life. After browsing the thread:
Eggs+Bread+Tomato Juice+Fish+More Alcohol seems to be a winning combination.

Super spicy pho, anything really spicy seems to work wonders for me.

Also buying and devouring savagely with my hands an entire ready to eat roast chicken from safeway after an especially rough night works quite well.

And coffee/tea, lots of hot caffeinated comfort drinks alongside pints of water
