I make a different soup every week, portion it in to containers and freeze them. It's very cost effective and quick to prepare for dinner.

Not specifically what you were asking, but I'd say broth based soups in general.

5$ recipes for a single-person meal?

NY Strip, Baked potato, steamed broccoli.

Double cheeseburger, brioche bun, fresh spinach

Pulled pork tacos with roasted potatoes and spanish rice.

5$ for a meal pretty much lets you do whatever you want. If you can't make these meals at well under 5$ a plate, you need to rethink how you shop for groceries.

>> No.6382331

You can make like 7 servings of chili for about twenty bucks.

Maybe if you portion out the NY Strip into 3 other meals
>fresh spinach
expensive as fuck, enjoy having a speck of green on your plate
>pulled pork tacos
too much effort fuck you

i've been living off 2 hamburgers with a bun every day for about a month and a half now, pretty low on cash due to debts so i've got 20-30,- to spend each month.

>7 servings of chili
>$20

I mean, maybe if it's made with the world's rarest beans grown with fertilizer made from the feces of HM Elizabeth II's personal sheep stock.

$20 is enough to make 20+ servings of chili.

That's the least interesting over-exaggeration I've ever seen.

No, fuck you.

I've found NY Strips at $2.33 a pound.

Spinach is cheap as fuck where I am, like $1.50 for a pretty good size bag.

Pulled pork is my go-to lazy meal. Get a Boston Butt(really fucking cheap, like $1.70 a pound. Rub it in Tony Chacheries. Roast for like 30 minutes at 475F. Pour a beer over it and throw in some garlic cloves. Cover in foil and braise for like 4 hours. It's done when you can spin a fork in it.

Corn tortilla, cabbage, feta cheese. Make a sauce from the drippings with some tomato paste and sugar and spices.

Yeah it takes like 5 hours total, but you actually doing stuff is like 30 minutes tops. You'll have food for 8 people, or for yourself for the week.

I agree. Chili is cheap as fuck to make a significant amount of.

Hell, you could use top-dollar ingredients and it would be no more than $2 a serving.

Pair with potatoes or rice to make it dirt cheap.

Buy 5kgs of potatoes
Get cheap vegetables
Get cheap discount meat
Put it all in one pot
Put it in the oven
The potatoes should last you a while and it only costs like 1.50 for 5KG

You are 100% full of shit. Why lie about something so pointless and trivial?

I'm not the guy you're replying to, but what makes you think that's a lie? I certainly wouldn't expect to find it for that price on a regular basis. But a special or close-out on meat that was about to expire? Sure, that's certainly possible.
