Which one?

Cholula is tastier by itself, but Tabasco is more versatile.

>> No.6376874

>>6376869

I like them both but it really depends on the dish.

Tabasco I only use for gumbo. It just works well with that.

I like Cholula on mexican food, and also for bloody marys.

Cholula is better if you're looking to enhance a dish with a spicy kick.

Tabasco is better if you're trying to mask the flavors of something or a fuck up.

You gotta make sure your using cholula right otherwise regular tabasco beats it out most times.

Cholula kind of reminds me of Taco Bell sauce. Fuck that shit.

Tabasco is much more versatile. Whenever I need just a plain chile flavor and a hint of vinegar, this is my go-to sauce. It's not always the sauce I reach for, but it will always have a place on my table.

Tabasco is extremely versatile. It's my preferred method for adding heat without flavor. Otherwise it's a toss up between Cholula or Tapatio. Tapatio on popcorn is GOAT

Fucking yes.

This is the patrician choice of hot sauces.

Though I'd prefer Tapatio over Tabasco, but that's just me.

The mayan shit El Yucateco makes is got-tier. I wish Cholula would have actual good varieties, but whatever, their regular sauce is hard to knock.

I was at wholefoods today and some bitch was selling hotsauce. I asked to try the hottest sauce she had and she said it was objective. I then informed her about the scoville heat units and she said that it wasn't an objective test because the participants for it drink sugar water after tasting a hot sauce and that since it used people it would never be a correct standard of measuring how hot something is. I literally wanted to laugh in her face and ask what her fucking major is. She then decided to use a shitload of buzzword such as " our hotsauce is made using the finest blend of organic peppers" and {insert hipster shit here] to try to sell me the hot sauce. why do I feel angry /ck/?

>> No.6377783

tabasco is delightfully simple because it imparts low-key flavors of chili, balanced out with a bit of sourness and saltiness without being overwhelming on in any facet. it enhances subtly. thicker, less vinegary sauces like cholula, valentina, tapatio, etc. offer more depth of flavor, and in a way that's doesn't enhance pre-existing flavors as much as it offers a new one: chili.

i really like tabasco's habanero sauce, though. you can put it in deserts and on bananas and shit.

As you may know from last posts my father has a seafood stand. This is the best sauce we have tried and costumers love it. Yellow one is the most spicy, then the red one, green one and finally the black one, the less spicy. All of them are really delicious. I prefer the red one as it's not so spicy and you can enjoy your meal without complaining.

This for heat and flavor.

Tapatio as a general sauce/replacement for ketchup.

Tobasco is just shitty tasting vinegar and only hot to milquetoast midwesterners who think taco bell's mild sauce is too hot.

Also use a lot of shatta.

What do you mean selling hotsauce, like out of her purse or something or officialy at the store? There was this one supermarket in Queens, NY where there was a lady would go up to people shopping and sell bootleg DVDs, a friend bought a couple, the quality wasn't bad for about $5/ea.

I don't like Cholula, it has too much of a flavor of its own and ruins most dishes. Tabasco is just a salty, spicy vinegar.

I drink Tabasco from the bottle though. So I'm biased.

Neither do I use as a hot sauce, they're not hot. Tabasco is more like a salad dressing, used to add salt, pepper and vinegar.

I use 'em both but in different ways.

Cholula is fantastic on ceviche.

Tabasco is what I put on dehydrated food when I'm backpacking.
