Explain, britcuck.

I think I had some coppola blend that was pretty decent.

Anyone had the wine from that dude from shark tank? He's a fucking snob so I figure he'd have to at least not hate it in order to associate his name with it, but I've seen it at costco and it's pretty cheap

Just last week, the Director's Cut Zinfandel from Coppola's winery...pretty good. I've purchased french & italian DOCG stuff for 2-3 times the price that didn't hold a candle to it.

A friend of mine had a 2010 Nagual del Marzo, a Cabernet by Caduceus founded by Maynard James Keenan, that I was lucky enough to enjoy a glass of. Really great stuff, never did ask how much he paid for it.

>> No.6359586

I've had several Coppolas, they were pretty much your standard industrial grade California wine, not horrible, but not interesting.

I went into a tasting room in Sonoma once not knowing what it was, and when the girl started pouring my flight she was going on about how the owner was on The Bachelor and stuff. It wasn't bad but the bottle prices were ridiculous.

I bought this beer once thinking the Ghostface Killah had decided to make a beer. It was fucking terrible, and I was even more disappointed when I learned rapper Ghostface Killah had absolutely nothing to do with this beer. It wasn't even a crappy cash in!

I emailed them to complain and received the following response:

Hi William,

"Thanks for dropping us a line, we always appreciate feedback. Ghost Face is certainly not for everyone; the six peppers mingling with smoked ghost peppers can be a lot for the senses to take! We received a review that called it the perfect beer to share with eleven of your friends, and I'm personally inclined to agree. However, there are some tough folks that can't get enough of the hottest beer this side of hell and drink it regularly, believe it or not. The rapper Ghost Face does know about the beer and has taken a few cases over the past years. He didn't provide feedback on the flavor but we like to think it hits almost as hard as the Wu Tang Clan's awesome music. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any other comments."

Had the Coppola Claret a couple of months back.
Was quite good, and I recommend it. For $12, it's a good wine.

Almost assuredly too much. Good wines, but way overpriced.

Which French and Italian "DOCG zinfandels" are you comparing it to? I didn't even know the French were making DOCG wines, let alone growing zins.

Also, anyone remember when /ck/ wine threads were good? Yeah me neither.

If it was good wine they wouldn't need the fancy name thread/

There is nothing fancy about putting the name of a hollywood star on a bottle of wine. You're probably culturally intimidated by Starbucks.

NIGGA I'm not the original poster so cool your scrote.

They don't even grow zinfandel in France. They have Primitivo in a few DOCs in Italy, bot no DOGC.

It's just cheap wine, nothing more, nothing less.
And Carlo Rossi is not a celebrity. He was just a salesman for E&J, the company who makes that wine.

Oh yeah I keep forgetting that stuff is technically celebrity wine. Good wine. Good olive oil too.
