Hey /ck/, would any non-americans be interested in having a gift-package put together of typical U.S. snack food, sweets, or drinks and then shipped to you if you were to pay for the cost?

I was thinking it would be cool to have a service like that and then basically only charge cost+shipping and then make a tip optional (in true american fashion)

Would you foreignbros be into that?

I'm an Ausfag and I'd definitely be interested in something like this.

>> No.6279264

Not really because American snack food, sweets and drinks are exported globally by their respective companies. What do you consider typical U.S. stuff?

>> No.6279265

>>6279240
Better watch what you're shipping internationally though. Some things are illegal.

If you ship in Kinder eggs to the US, you're going to federal pound me in the ass prison.

>and then shipped to you if you were to pay for the cost?

>implying it wouldn't be cheaper just to invent a teleporter and send shit to you that way.

We might as well be shipping stuff to the colonies on mars, like in Total Recall

>> No.6279290

>>6279255
What sort of things would you want? I can probably get a quote for shipping for you + the items cost. It shouldn't be expensive due to your high wages and low conversion cost.

>>6279264
Stuff that you guys 100% don't get as far as I know such as:

Girl scout cookies, different kinds of Oreos, Cheez-Its, different chip flavors, various sweets & local drinks, etc.

From what I've seen most 'US' aisles in other countries tend to focus on mixes/syrups, basic candies, pop tarts, and then maybe cereals.

We have a lot better snacks that you guys might not have like Hot & Spicy Cheez-Its or more localized chips and other products.

I'm 100% sure that they never sell these overseas, and are an example of something I could get to you guys.

These are very popular cookies sold by Girl Scouts, which is kind of like an activities club for girls run nationwide. They only sell them for a few weeks each year but are very popular. This is one of their most bought cookies, which is a chocolate base with caramel and then coconut on top.

>> No.6279320

>>6279277
Yeah shipping is pretty ridiculous

>>6279290
Most of the stuff I'd be interested in is candy, as you guys have a huge range but we don't, soda because also a huge range, and probably some cereal. Is there anything you would think or know we don't get that would be good to try?

>> No.6279322

>>6279306
I'm pretty sure reselling girl scout cookies overseas would be illegal...

My publix makes versions of it,generics, because Keebler makes version of all the recipes too. From thin mints to samoas, they make them all.
They're not so special anymore, and basically just a fund raiser you wish to support.

>> No.6279336

>>6279322
I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be.

>>6279320
A bunch of local soda brands, and then the obvious strange flavors. If you haven't tried Cinnamon Toast Crunch that would be a big one.

The Keebler versions aren't as good.

Not even all Girl Scout cookies are the same, they employ 2 bakers, ABC and Little Brownie, of which LB makes the superior cookies.

Here's a comparison, LB on the left, ABC on the right.

GS sales are a charitable donation. I think they say not for resale right on the package.

now that you bring this up, i have had both versions and the left one is noticeably better

>> No.6279356

Legally speaking selling them and including them as part of a gift package are separate concepts.

"not for resale" doesn't mean "can't be sold" but rather "not for retail sales", so a retailer can't come and buy 200 packs and then mark them up but I can definitely sell them to my friends or sell a package of items of which they are a part.

are there any actual laws that can be cited that make "not for resale" on the package legally binding

No.

Here's a handy-dandy article about it.

Your chips and snacks are all gross, orange looking and super artificially flavored.

The only thing that's really American that I like is vanilla cream soda but I can get various different types of that stuff in Europe.

Overall, European sweets and snacks are vastly superior in taste.

Yeah, actually most shit is gonna get stopped by customs, isn't it? There's a reason why people in bong land can't have the things we have in America. I'm sure it's a stupid fucking reason, but all the same, they don't want their people to have it.

We live in a very strange world.

There's no issue at all with getting snacks sent from the US to Bongland. The only food that's banned from outside the EU is meat, dairy produce and potatoes due to potential transfer of disease/pests, but sending something like a packet of beef jerky or milk chocolate would still be fine. You can buy US imported snacks at many large supermarkets and speciality shops, there is no conspiracy to keep Cheetos and Pop Tarts out of people's hands.
