If you have a gas stove with at least a 12k BTU burner you'll be fine. My bro has an electric stove, so he just went out and got the smallest propane grill he could find, and uses that for his wok. Forces him to cook outdoors, but works fine.

I think getting a small outdoor propane burner will wok, but watch people cook with woks, they have an actual jet engine as a heat source.

Don't feel too sad, I have an old wok that I can't use since I bought a house with an electric range.

I've never tried the outside thing, but I think >>6277512 has better advice.
