Actually drinking this right now. I prefer Bushmills or CC rye though. Since pop is such garbage lately I've been substituting with club soda & lemon or the flavoured club soda with lime. I like the carbonation, and it helps me enjoy the taste of the whiskey more without the artificial sweeteners.

Whisky in cold weather, gin in warm weather. Usually neat, sometimes mixed with soda water.

On rare occasions I make a martini with the gin, but I end up with so much excess vermouth that I have to cook with it for the next month. You can only get 1L bottles of Cinzano around here.

I have been drinking Knob Creek bourbon too. And I will be tonight.

I normally drink bourbon or scotch neat or with a splash of water in my glencairns, but I have been enjoying Knob Creek with some ice in a old fashioned whiskey glass like in your pic.

It holds up to the ice cubes incredibly well.

Also about Knob Creek, it is the most "oak" tasting whiskey, bourbon or otherwise I have ever had. It works, though

Whiskeys too rough, champagne costs too much, and vodka puts my mouth in gear... as a matter of fact, I like beer. - the late Tom T. Hall.I like vodka,because it mixes with anything (except cola) or Gin. Bourbon is ok,as is Irish or Scots, but more than a bit gives me a terrible headache. As far as wine, Beaujolais neuva, Merlot, German whites,.Again, more than a glass or two of champagne or "sparkling wine" gives me a thundering headache. I like sherry or port, it don't like me gout. If you get it, ask your Doc for alipurinol. reduces uric acid.Though from western NC, US, I dislike "moonshine":. You don't know what's in it, how made, and more expensive than the abc (alcohol beverage control) store..(30-50 a quart). I'm sorry,I am all for preserving heritage.But if you have seen someone go blind because some ahole ran it through a radiator or added toxic stuff, for profit, you wouldn't like it either. Just go to the damn store. Only thing I ever had that could not be bought was peach brandy, and apple brandy. Most corn whiskey stinks to high heaven, and unless filtered over charcoal, will make you wish for death. Does it indicate, most is sold in reused gallon milk jugs, and not even glass gallon or mason jars. I know how to make it, and make it right. But it's a lot of hard work, not worth the effort. They never show how much work is involved in cleaning. Yes, cleaning. You burn or scortch,you spend a while scrubbing. Sorry for the rant. Seriously, better off going to the store.

My favorite go to drink is an extra dirty martini made with Hendricks.

For beer it would be pic related, I've had better but nothing that I can get easily. I visited the brewery in Bruges in 2013 and have been in love with their quad ever since.

Taylor Fladgate's 10 year old tawny is one of the best deals for my money. The 20 is damn good too. Warre's Otima 10 is sex as well. For some real cheap, basic stuff Dow's Ruby is my choice.

I don't really like either. gin tends to taste like pine needles to me and inevitably makes me gag, but I do appreciate its dryness and its better mixed then straight. Tequila I'd rather drink straight because I feel it taints anything it touches and there's no point in trying to cover it up. Leaves more of that "I puked a little in the back of my throat" taste.

Fucking plebs, Jameson is the like the Jack Daniels of Irish whiskey. Sure you can drink it straight but it's always used in cocktails. Jamesons themselves push the fuck out of the Jameson Ginger and Lime, which is worth giving a shot if you're looking for an alternative chaser to usual Coke
If you're looking for a more premium Jimmies go for the Select Reserve/Black Barrel, it's not much more expensive
