What are your favorite foods from your country? I'm Swedish and mine is fried cured herring. Salty as nothing else but tasty as hell.

Pozole Rojo... it has a lot of ingredients, but the basic ones : Pork meat (wih the head and bones so it can give more flavour to the soup), peppers, White Hominy, radish, onion and cilantro, with some delicious tostadas and lemon.

I just came back from Berlin after half a year there. Loved the city but fucking currywurst is so goddamn bland and mediocre.

Alternatively, here's a dish traditional to my city: rössypottu. It's a soup made of pork, potatoes and rössy, a kind of blood pudding made of rye flour, blood and beer.

I didn't really like it too much growing up, until I tried making it myself. Homemade rössy turned out to be surprisingly good.
