Sprecher's, IMO. It's got a creaminess and thick mouthfeel that I've never experienced in another root beer. It's tied with Boylan's (which I like for it's fruitiness and crispness) for my favorite.

Never had their hard root beer but most of them are not very good.

Their sodas and beer (including root beer) are great. Why anyone would buy hard root beer is beyond me. Just buy some wine coolers instead.
