Looks pretty fucking good, but I got horribly sick from clams we caught in the local bay a few years back, and I still get nauseous if I try to eat them now.

you need to check what the pollution/sewage levels might be in the area, a good thing to do is to leave them in fresh salt water overnight to leach out any toxins.

What are you supposed to use to mop up the juices and the extra seasoning from the plate if you throw away the bread?

Looks reallyfuckinggood to me, but I grew up on the coast. Been eating clams since I was a baby.

The only way I could think to improve that dish would be the addition of Portuguese chorizo.

>> No.6202031

The food looks delicious, but I've had shellfish enough times to know that I probably wouldn't like the flavor.

>> No.6202037

> Chorizo when you could put a couple huge prawns, tomatoes, some bits of fish and serve with 2 bottles of good cold white wine

ABSOLUTELY HARAM.

I've never understood how anybody could look at a tidepool and think "yum, that looks delicious"

Bulhão Pato clams are best clams.

>> No.6202477

I used to get shit like that all the time at clam shacks when they are in season. Only other way i prefer to eat them is raw on the half shell, with a little lemon and perhaps a dab of horseradish.

More like: "You guys eat this crap?"
"Only cool guys eat this crap!"
"Whoa, I want to be a cool guy too!"

That's why snails and frog legs in France, after the Great Revolution.
That's why pizza, dough with leftovers.
That's why spicy mexican food, to kill taste of rotting meat and kill the germs in it.
That's why rice and raw fish wrapped in seaweed.
That's why sheep stomach stuffed with groats.

Most of the "fashionable foods" were born from famine.
