By internet, I mean just making people aware. Probably when you found the Shirt Store, you found it the same way I did - by walking past it. People just starting their careers these days find their clothing via internet search, blogs, forum posts, etc., in addition to catalogs and storefront advertising. They'd be lucky to run across a random tiny shop on 43rd street just off Vanderbilt unless they happen to be in the neighborhood. Whereas you could walk past Brooks Bros (and now many other stores) offering both RTW and custom shirts in many fabrics and styles and at every price point.

And the fact "The Shirt Store" doesn't have a name and a story, like say, Martin Greenfield or even the Cego guy, also detracts from its marketability. That, and the fact that it was kind of desperate looking and pleading with the price tags and the handwritten "buy this many, get one free" come-on.
