Try substituting the tomato-based pizza sauce for sour cream, then adding a mild cheese, tuna and corn. It's delicious.

Also

Banana on pizza is fantastic.
Everyone here should try it on a meat-laden salty pizza (preferably with bacon and/or pepperoni). It's a more mild sweet counterpoint than for instance pineapple's strong citrusey sweetness.

I made this pizza awhile back. Sweet potato pizza dough, topped with herbed olive oil and roasted garlic (made into a spreadable paste), swiss chard, pancetta, sliced cooked red potatoes, and lots of parmesan, and some black pepper and crushed red pepper flakes (drizzled with a lemon infused olive oil at the end.
It was really delicious. I make the sweet potato dough regularly now, but with all sorts of different toppings. I like to use the same oilive oil and roasted garlic base and then use grilled eggplant, scallions, and feta cheese (sometimes with salaimi or coppa) or mixed mushrooms, fresh thyme, parmesan and fontina cheese.

Sometimes I make regular pizza dough and top it with chutney, curry leftovers (butter chicken or paneer, chicken tikka masala or saag paneer work well for this), and add onions and tomatoes, and then sprinkle it with chopped cilantro (coriander) and raita when it's done. Pretty damn tasty,

I know there is this shitty ass place in Florida called Cici's Pizza (there pizza is basically slathered in grease and so nasty and its some place where your dad would take you when you were little and poor and you would think it was the shit). It was basically a pizza buffet, they had just some basic ass pizzas like pineapple, meat lovers, veggie pizza, pepperoni, etc. But they had these deserts there and 1 was called chocolate pizza. It was basically sweet dough covered in a chocolate glaze and it was the best thing i had ever tasted in my entire 11 year old life.

They stopped making that desert though years later and just made brownies and cinnamon rolls. Haven't been there in like 10 years but I think its still around. Maybe they deliver? Was that what your "chocolate" pizza was?

The authenticity debate is pretty stupid anyway. Something can be inauthentic but still enjoyable (specially for those not exposed to the "authentic" version from early age and thus have a firm preconcemption about how a dish should be). But it's also idiotic to be defensive and say the inauthentic version is the best and authentic version sucks in comparison. People enjoy different things, the important thing is to be aware about what you're eating and not pretend otherwise.

you know there's actualy a set of rules that establish what can and can't be called a pizza in Europe or a proper "DOC pizza" as we call it

Problem is noone actualy abides to them, not even in Naples and thats becouse said rules require the pizza to be made ONLY using extra virigin olive oil, which is usualy too heavy for most people while it actualy makes the taste 10 times better

I made pic related at work not too long ago. From left to right: andoullie and mozzarella; ham, mozz, and capers; and some strange salad pizza concoction with mixed greens, grated romano, carrots and some garlicky sauce we use for pasta. The sauces are all our recipes and the sous chef made the ham himself. It was all bretty gud.

Italianfag (born and raised in italy for y'all Americans) here to say FUCK this fresh pasta nonsense. Fresh pasta is only used in specific types of dishes. It makes me cringe when people try to say that fresh pasta is "more authentic" or whatever, because it means nothing.
Try to make carbonara with fresh pasta and act like you're a fancy fag. You'll get shot in the balls.

This is today's effort, sourdough base with tomatoes, onion, zucchini, green and red pepper, aubergine, avocado, 2 kinds of mushrooms, quail eggs, chicken and 2 kinds of cheese.

So it's basically a vegetable

I have legitimately never heard anyone use that term for eggplant in English.

That implies you're American, because that's what England (and several of its colonies) and a lot of Europe calls them.

It's one of a lot of foods that happened to. Zucchini is also called Courgette, Arugula and Rocket are the same thing, Rutabagas are called Swedes.

Then there's pineapple, or as over 10 other languages agree, is called "ananas". (well, Spain caved and calls them "Ananas" or "Piña")

>> No.6188597

>>6188454

Canadian, actually.

The thing is, those are pretty much all the French terms for them.

I honestly never had cause to use the word before much, but "eggplant" sounds like a made up word used by someone who doesn't know what the plant is called and settles for vaguely describing it.

Zucchini also sounds like a stage magician's name. I'll use courgette next time.

And I'm in Spain and everyone calls 'em Piña, not much chance of mistaking 'em for a pinecone

>> No.6188729

>>6188602

"Courgette" is basically the French word for squash with "ette" at the end, meaning "small squash".

Types of noodles that come from Europe?

As in, I'm not talking about soba or cho mein.

Pretty easy to figure out.
