Curiosity....how many people on this board actually cook and eat what they talk about and how many are just fans of food?

Most of my posts on this board are questions about what I'm intending to cook or about seeking help on how I could do it better. So yeah, I pretty much always cook and eat what I talk about. But then again I'm a pretty infrequent poster.

As a German, I usually just come here to see what other people around the world eat.

I do love my selfmade chili con carne and steaks and recently, I've tried pulled pork with some american style coleslaw.

Also ramen naturally, since we're on a weeaboo imageboard.

Currywurst is above it all.

Nah, you just can't do that really. I cook pretty much every day (pasta, curries, chili, stews, roasts, steaks and so on) but it's nothing special and I just don't feel like being told my food looks like poo, heh.

Dude you can have great food if you want to.
Cooking stuff by yourself is a shitload cheaper than buying already done stuff in the supermarket.

If anything else fails, just get some cheap ground beef, some buns and fresh vegetables and make the burger of your dreams.
You can literally cook superior burgers and still undercut MCD prices.
Also just get a fucking slab of beef and cook it like a steak. It will still taste delicious even if it's not a prime cut. You can get really great beef in Germany for like 6-7 eur/kg if you don't look for prime cuts. I use those for my steaks all the fucking time and they're still great.

Don't trust this guy. You aren't going to make hamburger taste better than McDonalds does.
If you're going to enjoy it more, you're going to enjoy the toppings on it, or you're going to go through the fucking chore of lighting a grill and making one patty, because hamburger literally does not taste good unless you add other stuff to it. This is why nobody orders plain hamburger anything.

I cook and/or bake every single day. And, of course, I eat what I cook/bake. And give it away to others as well. Today, I baked three different kinds of cookies, and am planning on taking a big tray of them up to work tomorrow for everyone to enjoy. I'm also making dinner from scratch, and yesterday I made breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I haven't taken any recent photos of my dishes, though, I just tend to forget. I'm usually on top of that, though. I have a huge file of images of my meals that I've posted before here.

>how many people on this board actually cook and eat what they talk about and how many are just fans of food?

I cook 90% of my food and the food for my three housemates, but I'm just a shitty below midtier stir-fries-pastas-and-curries cook

unemployed, mental health problems, welfare scum of society, poorfag, etc.. at least I'm not a fatass who gets nothing but cream soda and instant mashed potatoes with my fucking foodstamps

>> No.6147119

For breakfast I grab something fast & easy. Maybe some toast or oatmeal or yogurt with some cereal--hardly worth mentioning.

Lunch and dinner I cook from scratch every day except Friday. Sometimes I cook lunches every day, other times I make a big batch over the weekend and then portion it up for during the week. Fridays I take my staff out to eat for a business lunch.

Dinner I cook each and every day.

Only exceptions are special occasions like a holiday, birthday, anniversary, etc.

hmm.

if you wanted to give yourself a heart attack you could probably make a crispy potato fritter like pic and caramelize it, but you would just use brown sugar for that

or I guess you could make potato donuts and cover them with caramel sauce. they just taste like normal donuts. but again it's easy as fuck to make caramel sauce even if you don't have a candy thermometer so there's no reason to use cream soda for that either.

Cream soda sauce on hashbrowns. You'd definitely want to forget the calories and sugar but the taste might be good.

>> No.6147173

>>6147150

I guess what I'm getting stuck on is that you could make a tastier caramel sauce with basic ingredients than you can with a cream soda reduction. I guess it comes down to what's possible versus what is optimal.

oh, actually, if you made fried chicken and used potato flakes as the coating for crispiness, then drizzled it with a caramel sauce... it'd still be fucking disgusting, but it's not that much different than maple syrup on chicken and waffles.
