Hannaford is the not-poor store where you are? What? The local Hannaford-family stores here are all closing the 15th because reasons and only poor people ever, ever shopped there.
And me, because I'm a cheap motherfucker.

I went today and picked up eight bags of frozen cherries, eight boxes of sweet and salty almond granola bars, a eight packs of baby wipes and a package of frozen, mixed seafood because someone showed theirs on /ck/ yesterday and thought I'd pick some up myself and make a fake-me-out paella.
And it was all under $30. Regular price would have been about $55, but they're going out of business here so everything's super cheap right now, so I'm stockin' up.
Gotta say: a lot of their homebrand stuff is pretty good.

I don't generally buy tinned beans, so I can't say how much they might be, but stuff I do buy from our local Hannaford sister-store is 50¢ - $1 /cheaper/ than other places or even more. Those frozen cherries? They'd have been $1 more elsewhere. I bought some premade, lard pie crust from there, a pack of two for 29¢ once! Dannon yogurt is $2.49 for the large containers, regular price, and eggs are $1.99 per 18 large, also regular price. The largest size boxes of namebrand cereal are $2.49 each and I was able to get a whole WHEEL of "swiss" cheese for $4. I think it weighed 6lbs.
I can go check, if you want, to be sure of the weight of the cheese. It still has the packaging.

And this was all long before they declared they were closing them around here. Most of these purchases were over the summer.

I'm surprised that Hannaford is so expensive where you live because there's a big scandal about them closing around here. Poor people in my area are complaining that when they close them, they'll no longer have access to affordable food.

Depends. Lidl has some good fresh meat, decent wine, decent cooked meats & cheeses (for example). Aldi in my experience tends to have slightly poorer meat but much better fruit & veg.

Either way, both Aldi & Lidl have FAR better fruit, veg & meat than Asda or Tesco, by a VERY wide margin. I wouldn't even feed Asda meat to a dog.
