So my asshole brother made a quesadilla and left the heat on after he was done.
The cheese that was on there is now charcoal and impossible to scrape off. Is there anyway I can clean this?
Will it fuck with my food at all?

This.
You can also use baking soda and a greed scrubby pad.
Baking soda cuts through just about anything.

clorox is most effective when mixed with ammonia, such as windex.

Baking soda and a scrubbing sponge?

>> No.6108735

A scrubbing sponge will leave scratch marks, if you fill the pan with water and bring it to a boil on the stove the burned food will release.

>The cheese that was on there is now charcoal

>Charcoal is a light, black residue, consisting of carbon and any remaining ash, obtained by removing water and other volatile constituents from animal and vegetation substances. Charcoal is usually produced by slow pyrolysis, the heating of wood or other substances in the absence of oxygen (see char and biochar). It is usually an impure form of carbon as it contains ash; however, sugar charcoal is among the purest forms of carbon readily available, particularly if it is not made by heating but by a dehydration reaction with sulfuric acid to minimise the introduction of new impurities, as impurities can be removed from the sugar in advance. The resulting soft, brittle, lightweight, black, porous material resembles coal.

I would try this first, OP. Then do the baking soda. Then go get some barkeeper's friend if that fails.

Bleach will disinfect shit but it won't clean baked on cheese like this

also it's much better to just use very hot water or a dishwasher to disinfect your shit

DON'T DO THIS. Whether copper or steel, it will embed in the stainless pan, and will cause pitting.

>> No.6109035

white vinegar left to sit can remove a lot of discoloration.
may need to wipe and repeat several times.

Put some water in the pan and leave it alone for a while. It's not a big deal. You want a fun time, try burning sugar in a pan. It's so much work to get out it would probably be cheaper to just buy a new pan. But I wanted to see if I could clean it...
