How about this chili?

Probably my favorite chili recipe; similar to Chili John's style (a Wisconsin institution). Other "styles" of chili (with tomato, or macaroni noodles) just pale in comparison for me.

Brown about 2-2.5 pounds of ground beef/chuck, with 1.5 cups water. After fully browned and very well broken up, add the 8ozs of chili mix, mixing thoroughly, then let simmer on low for at -least- 20-30 minutes. Make some spaghetti noodles - thin is my preference. I also like using both red kidney beans and black beans, with shredded cheese. Some people like to add a little vinegar, and oyster crackers are also popular.

The original restaurant - http://chilijohns.com/ . Football fans may recognize the name: John Madden used to frequent the diner-like chili joint and would mention it in broadcasts when he would be in town for Packer games.

Ditch the chili beans and use plain canned kidney beans.

The sauce in those chili beans is probably nasty and very salty. Make your own sauce from scratch.

You took stuff out of boxes, cans, and packages. That isn't cooking.

Also

How could you think this thread was a good idea. You make me sick.

Yeah, you use way too many "mixes" for this to really be great. It's not hard to throw together your own chili from completely raw ingredients, give it a try sometime.

Chili mix is a scam. Cook tomatoes, add chili peppers, and you get the same exact flavor.

Ugh.

People are so caught up in the bean meme that they don't have an actual criticism. I guess it's my job.

Spaghetti with chili is an abomination. Rice is the only acceptable side, but a good chili requires no side.

You're a legit retard. Those are the core ingredients. You CAN make chili with just those things and it will technically be chili. Would anyone in their right mind do that? Of course not. And you're a fucking idiot for assuming that.
