Almost everyone is buying the walmart great value brand food. Everywhere and anywhere great value is there. I have that gut feeling to not eat this generic brand foods. The quality of the food is usually shit. It leaves a bad taste and my stomach makes the weird digestive noises afterwards.

Are we ultimately fucked by this horrible generic shit?

Why do people continue to buy this brand when it only saves them a couple of dollars in the end? Is the shitty quality worth a couple of dollars?

What is your opinion /ck/?

A lot of it is national brands with new packaging.

Look at where it was packaged and compare it to a regular name brand item. They come from the same fucking place. Eggs and milk from the same farm, canned goods from the same plant in the same state.

costco ham is sooo delicious

Honestly, yes, I have always hated walmart. I tried other grocery store generic brands from safeway,win-dixie, krogers, and publix. Their store brands were very decent and still saved me money.

I wouldn't say you are completely off base but I don't think its the end of the world. Just buy the better tasting brand and you are good to go.

There is definitely a difference between Great Value foods and brand name foods though. A good example is the Great Value ice cream sandwiches and Blue Bell ice cream sandwiches. Massive difference between the two. Same with apple juice and Motts apple juice.

There are things that have no difference though, like sugar, salt, eggs, unsalted butter...

For Safeway, I never doubt the quality of the Safeway brand, however I will not EVER buy pantry essentials brand. Something about 99 cent store bread grosses me out, but $2.00? no problem.

Am I crazy?

presidents choice is probably the best store brand, other than kirkland. products are usually better than other brands plus they're cheaper

Oh absolutely agree that expensive eggs are better, but im just talking about regular brand name eggs and goods in general. Usually the real expensive stuff cant even be bought at regular supermarkets anyways.

Costco is a big step above Walmart brand though. Costco meat is fucking amazing

A UC study found that most ev olive oils are not legit and i think kirkland brand was ones of the few brands to be perfectly legit.

Does USA have Aldi? or Aldi equivilent?
Everyone used to hate it and think it was really shit but turns out all the stuff is actually equal if not better than Adsa, Tesco, Sailsburys here in UK.

As they have stores all over Europe so all there stuff comes from the country of origin they just move the stock around bringing stuff to one country then returning with goods made in that country...so Italian pasta, Cheeses from all over the place, many many breads and other random food stuff. Plus beer, wine, spirits ect

Plus its pretty cheap to shop there.

When I lived in Chicagoland they had it there, but I've never seen it outside of the Chicago area. I've traveled most of the USA except for New England and the deep south, so I dunno bout those places.
