I got this box from Oyatsubox for the monthly price of £15.88 including shipping.

Pic related is the green tea kitkats, It's basically a white chocolate kitkat flavoured intensely with green tea. Really tasty. Not too sweet, with a bitter fragrant hit from the green tea.

This particular box? Worth it imo for the variety and that they included an entire package of the kitkats and not just a single one, if you have the cash to spare. This is the first japanese snack box I've tried. I've had discounts on almost all the other food boxes I've tried so far so I can't say I feel ripped off. I didn't really like flavourly because it seemed overpriced and hellofresh has really boring recipes and meh ingredients. Gousto is mediocre and Saturday Kitchen Recipe Box was really good. It's usually kinda expensive because shipping.

Go ahead and try it once.

I was sorta hoping for something like that when I signed up for my box. When you look at the example boxes one of them had a "sushi" kit that was just like yours, except you make a handful of different types of sushi, all from water and powders. Watching their youtube loli review it turned out everything just tasted like grape, but I still miss the fun factor (at least I got a sticker).

Pic related is probably my favorite item so far. It's kind of like a Pocky, except that the outside is more like a cookie. The filling is chocolate on one half, and banana on the other. I'm a huge fan of banana candy, even when it's entirely artificial, but this actually tastes like banana.

As you can probably guess, the combination of Disney and Japan makes this easily the highest quality package; it's honestly feels like luxury junk food (yeah, I went to Disneyland a few times growing up and they know what they're doing).

I don't disagree. That's what I said about the banana. My point was rather that the fun factor outweighed the payoff, flavor-wise, as you implied with your ratings.

The sushi thing just seemed really elaborate, but at the end it seems like they said it all tasted the same.

>The opposite, eggs have a natural protective film over the shell to prevent bacteria from entering but american eggs have to be washed before they can be sold. This washes the film off so the inside of the egg can potentially be contaminated. This is also why american eggs have to be kept refrigerated while in other parts of the world we leave eggs on the counter.

This puts me off from moving to the US so bad. Once I went namatamago I can't go back, it's like the longer you cook egg the more flavour it loses.

Even here in Oyland I need to be careful and check if my eggs are IE or UK made because UK hens are vaccinated against salmonella while ours are not. Luckily we get the UK ones from up north often enough.

So go get a prepaid debit card. It works just like a credit card does.

Or you can deposit money in a PayPal account and then use that.

>Or you can deposit money in a PayPal account and then use that.
Didn't work. I have to add a credit card before im able to pay.

Where do i get prepaid CCs? I live in Europe and haven't seen any

>> No.5976177

>>5976135

I don't know about Europe, but in the states you can get them at any bank. You just go up the counter and ask for a debit card with however much money on it, you give them the money and they give you a card. In the states you can also buy them at many shops. They sell them next to the store-specific "gift cards".

Also many banks will do this even without a physical "card". You contact your bank (I can do it from my bank's website) and they will issue you a "credit card number" that's really just linked to pre-paid amount of cash; this is specifically for shopping online.

Also, do you have a debit card on your checking account? That would work too.

Your egg story is BS. Everywhere on the world washes eggs before selling because chickens shit on them. America refrigerates eggs becasue Americans are stupid. People were freaked out when when salmonella could be inside the egg now, so all eggs needed to be refrigerated and cooked through. Now it's an extreme rarity for salmonella to be in the egg (it's more likely to contract it from chicken shit left on the shell that gets in the egg when it's cracked), but people and the FDA are so freaked out about about it still the old rules get kept.

At the restaurant I'm at, we kept our eggs at room temp for years until the health inspector found are stash and gave us a red warning. They'd sit around for days, get served raw at times, and there were no complaints of sickness.

But she is right: http://www.fsai.ie/faq/egg_washing.html

>The priority in egg production is to produce clean eggs at the point of collection, rather than trying to clean them afterwards. The cleanliness of the egg should be assured by good management and hygiene of the poultry house, and by minimising the delay between egg laying and egg collection.

>If egg laying poultry are infected with Salmonella, they can shed these bacteria in their faeces. If care is not taken in egg production, then the eggs can become soiled with faeces – and therefore Salmonella can be found on the shell. During washing, the natural barriers in the shell can be compromised and Salmonella may pass into the inside of the egg where it has the opportunity to grow.

>Remember egg washing is not recommended because Salmonella can move into the inside of the egg through pores in the shell, increasing the risk to consumers.

>Getting egg washing right to avoid all these increased risks is not simple, and for that reason it is much safer not to wash them at all, but to concentrate on good husbandry, and the production of eggs that are clean in the first place.

Salty pea snacks.

They're basically the same as the ones they started selling everywhere in the States a few years back, if a little sweeter.

Still pretty addictive, though.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that they taste nothing like potatoes & onion, corn, tomato, despite what the bottom third of the package may lead someone moon runes impaired to believe.

Pic related are the last two items I haven't opened yet.

I have to idea what to expect from the "fried mochi", but I'm guessing it's going to be more flavored rice cracked type things.

I'm exited about the apple and sweet potato pie cookie things. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the box is about the same size as a box of girl scout cookies.

>> No.5978567

These boxes are really tempting since I live in an area where we have no asian stores and importing shit is super expensive.
However, I'll be saving my tastebuds and money for a trip to the country where I get to decide what I want to eat myself. Loving these threads anyway though.

A lot of the snacks you get in Japan are regional and exclusive to the area you're in which is really cool. I got to try a dozen different honeydew flavored products when I visited Hokkaido in summer.

>>5979752
The site is oyatsubox.com but the selection is random so if you want the green tea kit kats you're better off searching for an online retailer that supplies Japanese products. Green tea seems to be the most popular flavour so it shouldn't be too hard
