I fucking love eating. There's nothing I look forward to more than binge eating. When I'm going out, I look forward to the food more than the people I'll be with. I can't even keep snack food around my house.. I'll drink a two liter, eat entire pizzas, then crush a bag of oreos for dessert.

Even if I just buy healthy stuff (fruit, vegetables, oatmeal), I still mow through it like crazy. I'll eat five pounds of grapes, or ten servings of oatmeal and still feel unsatisfied.

If I'm not eating, I'm constantly thinking about food. How do I break this habit? It's fucking terrible for me. Should I try some kind of 12 step program or something? Should I seek medical help?

>> No.5966099

I get this way too sometimes. Insatiable hunger. I don't know if it's right or healthy, but I fast for a day or two. Let my stomach shrink and then I eat smaller portions after the fast, and I'm full easier. Also I've heard that it takes around half an hour for your stomach to tell your brain it's full. Try eating a normal serving size, and then not eating for a half hour.

could also be tape worms. again, you need medical attention. seek a dietitian, avoid nutritionists as they do not have to have any qualifications to use that title.

You might actually have a problem where you lack the ability to tell when you are full. Or it could be that you're just a fat fuck who has simply forgotten what it actually feels like to be hungry.

Either way, going to a doctor couldn't hurt.

ha, well thats because it tastes good. really, i would recommend "binge" eating on progressive cuts of your current diet to only include those that pack protein, fiber, and so on. it doesn't have to be perfect, just reduce your options. pizza and oreos are never going to cut it because of the makeup of their ingredients. its not about "healthy" as much as it is getting an even brain chemistry. high fat foods are things like olives, mayo, seeds, nuts. proteins like chicken, pork, have some gravy for all i care. but you understand the point, its about substitution. have a spoonful of flax seed before snacks. add MTC oil to your coffee. buy some canned vegetables you like, like beets or green beans. find foods that satisfy certain "cravings", such as saurkraut for a sour/salty snack. even with sausage...but its still protein, see? this can be as gradual as you like, and if you do it correctly you never feel you're "missing out"' because the payout is in energy and clarity of mind. the body is made to efficiently produce energy from the right stuff. the right stuff is your own choosing based on how different foods interact with your body. but first things first is ruling out the shit. and oreos is shit. no way, just...no. you have to draw the line. substitute and drink cold drinks. GUACAMOLE, you know, find the right stuff. but its all a cycle, to be successful it needs to be one step at a time.

Same although I wouldn't say that I "look forward" to binge eating or anything like that because I don't want to be a fatass. I just manage it by eating large portions of vegetables with my foods and keeping myself distracted.

Also while I don't know about ten servings of oatmeal, I am also not satiated if I just eat one thing. I need a balanced meal or I will just want to eat more shit even if I'm uncomfortably full.

>> No.5967343

Actually your body chemically adapts to taking in a lot of food. Even if you're nutritionally satiated your stomach nerves will still trick your body into thinking it's still hungry because it's used to you binging all the time. Then, if you try to correct this problem, your body experiences symptoms like drug withdrawals (pangs, headaches, irritability, etc) because it was used to eating a lot more food.

Your best bet is eating lean proteins with sides of high fiber food, and gradually reducing the amount you eat. Replace any caloric drink with water. If you're going to binge then it's best to binge on foods that contain the lowest amount of calories and soluble fat as possible.

This seems like as good a thread as any...

anybody here deal with bullimia? I've had it since I was in middle school. As a dude it's hard to get help for that shit. It's like an insatiable urge, much like smoking. The feeling of ridding yourself of everything. It really wears me down though. I'm in my early twenties now.

About a decade of EDNOS leaning toward Bulimia here.
You can get help if you want it, though a lot of people with eating disorders don't want help. It's a mental illness and it fucks with your priorities and perceptions, so sometimes the best you can do is try to manage the behaviors. One step at a time, you know?

I'm sorry if that's not what you want. I just thought since you mentioned how it's starting to wear you down, maybe you were ready to start some constructive habits.

Of course, medical attention is blah blah blah, you know this. I'd advise you to tell someone you trust and use that as a stepping stone to support. If that's not something you're comfortable with, maybe a good online community would help. Not that pro-ana bullshit. Someplace focused on recovery, but still supportive of candid dialogue (as opposed to "muh triggers").

I like WhyEat. Cool people, active boards, supportive and understanding, funny and insightful. Nobody will try to force anything on you. We do have males on there. I know a lot of guys aren't comfortable with admitting to having an eating disorder because it's a "young white woman's disease", but we both know it's not. You can poke around the site without signing up if you want to see what it's about.

I'll stop before I write a novel. Good luck, anon. I hope to see you around.

>> No.5967429

>>5967372
Yeah, just seek professional help. Bulimia is annoying and you aren't going to stop unless you really want to... like smoking. People quit bad habits all the time, but if you are serious and can't figure out how to stop then you should talk to an expert who deals with eating disorders. And breaking bad habits is hard... it's not really something that you just give up on because it isn't easy to do. Laziness and excuses are a great way to never get better.

I mean honestly, why in the world would you ask for help for your bulimia on 4chan?
I'm responding to you because I had/have plenty of issues and know lots of people who have/had, some who have gotten over them and some who haven't (8 or 10 years later)... but it seems like you just want attention or pity for having eating issues without actually doing anything constructive about it. And that is annoying.

It just happened to my boyfriend. He's got a paunch now and for a while acted like it would just disappear like his weight always has. But now that it's been awhile he's starting to acknowledge that he needs to slow down on his eating.

I've been trying to buy less snack foods and make healthier dinners but he wants to snack constantly and is a grumpy fuck when he can't. But I buy him like a weeks worth of snacks and he eats them all in one day. So I'm sick of spending money on snacks every fucking day and then listen to him complain about his weight.

I'm getting pretty sick of this shit.

Are you lactose intolerant?

Eat a "normal" portion of a meal and then drink 2 glasses of milk. Still hungry? Drink a third. I guarantee you'll start feeling full. Your body can only process a limited amount of lactose at once, plus your stomach fills up. It's temporary, but it allows your stomach to talk to your brain and say it's had enough.
