Most foodstuffs containing blueberries do not actually contain any blueberry at all.

Sucks, man.

A lot of foodstuffs that are purple are somehow called red.

Red grapes and Red cabbage are two of them, but there's a few more I think.

blueberries can be blue inside
it depends on how ripe they are

You can't be this stupid. That's a northern highbush blueberry (vaccinium corymbosum), not an actual blueberry (v. myrtillus), which is blue/purple on the inside and around three thousand times tastier.

The species OP posted does not turn blue from the inside.

It's the kind they sell as blueberries in the store and my Grandparents grew on "blueberry bushes" and the kind you pick at the pick-your-own-blueberry place. I genuinely didn't know there was another kind of blueberry. (I always assumed the blue color in blueberry juice came from the skins).

There are also potatoes that are purple inside, but not every purple potato is purple inside.

I thought Kale was overhyped and awful. Turns out it's alright. Not great, just alright.

I used to think that when you're cooking a whole fish, head included, in a liquid and the eye disappears that it was just scooped out or maybe fell out or something. No. That's eye-broth, baby.

I used to think it was okay to throw jalapeno seeds and membrane into the sink and then wash my hands with hot water. My fingers still caused my eyes and nose to burn and my eyes are immediately burning because it turns out hot water a shit.

Regarding "blueberries"

I come from Slovakia, located in middle Europe, country with a lot of mountains. We used to eat homemade blueberries jam ALL the time and when blueberries season comes, there are a lot of people in village who pick wild bluberries for money - it foes from 4 EUR to 11 EUR per kg, which is a very nice price. These blueberries are BLUE inside and if you manage to spill some of its juice on your shirt you can just throw it away, it wont wash off. The taste is very sweet but yet mild, and their size is very small (even smaller than peas).

I once went to Norway, where I had these large, store bought blueberries. Jesus fuck these big shits tasted nothing like bluberries, there were white inside just like in OPs picture. I would say that they tasted more like plums rather that blueberries.

>tl;dr: If you want to know how does blueberry taste like, try the wild growing one.

op here. hey that is exactly what i had in mind, a dark juice that would stain your shirt, and when i just saw these white things it did seem like a small plum. i guess the one you are talking about is that "v. myrtillus" >>5955610 mentioned.

yep, three thousand times tastier really fits it.

Where are you from?

>> No.5955845

American blueberry, or sometimes called bush blueberry is never really blue. OP's pic is one of these. They are bigger, but not as tasty.

European blueberry, or bilberry grows only on low growing shrubs and this is the staining blue variety. These blueberries are completely blue or purple and taste much better than the American variant.

mm, this time they did seem less tasty and were actually bigger than other times, thats why i could bite them in half to check them inside... maybe i had been eating the legit ones before, cause they were small and much tastier. Latin America here.
