Has any fatfuck tried to cook spaghetti in melted butter instead of water?

Why?

I usually put them into a spoonful of melted butter after cooking them im water. It gives them a nice taste. Cooking them in butter seems to be - disturbing.

This technique is usually referred to as frying. I don't think it would work with dry pasta, but I bet you could figure out something with fresh. Anyway, I think what you're looking for is called funnel cake.

>> No.5857386

Wouldn't really work. Cooking dry pasta is partly about hydrating it.

Though if you cook it normally and then fry it, it takes on a texture sort of liked puffed rice. Sort of neat.

You can cook fresh pasta in just oil (or butter).

>> No.5857645

>>5857581

I assume that you mean that you rolled out the pasta dough and cut it and it is still soft and pliable and contains some moisture. Even then, I wouldn't imagine that it would come out the same.

It might be better. It might not be better. But it wouldn't be the same.

>> No.5858179

>>5857297

Even better.

Cook a packet of ramen.
Drain out all the water.
Toss in a stick of butter to create broth.

It's so good.

Why the fuck would you even attempt that?

You can incorporate butter into a pasta dish the following way

>cook pasta in salted boiling water until tender
>Drain off
>Add butter into pan
>Melt it
>Add fresh herbs (basil is the excellent)
>Cherry tomatoes if you want
>Some olive oil
>Salt/pepper
>Add Pasta
>Just cook everything together a few minutes
>Serve it

No need to fucking add the whole stick of butter.

The only decent way that would work, would be to parboil the pasta, so it's only halfway cooked, and then basically poach it in a beurre monte until it was al dente. But, it would have to be a small amount of pasta at a time, because it there wouldn't be enough room for a large amount to expand. If you were so inclined, you could might, might use a similar method sous vide.
I have several containers of beurre monte that was used for salmon and lobster in my freezer, I may just have to try that. Could be a disaster, could be a win, we'll just have to see. You can usually predict the results easily, but with some tweaking it just might work.

I think there would be better success with just making fresh egg pasta and adding butter to the dough or sauteing it in butter while fresh. You'd probably end up with some sort of wrinkly looking buttery noodles. Sounds pretty good actually, like spaetzel.
