one of my eggs cracked and made a layer underneath the ones that were intact. it ended up overcooking while my yolks were overly runny. how could i have avoided this other than not breaking this egg or making scrambled eggs?

It might help if you explained what you were doing a little bit better. How were you trying to cook them? When you said that one made a layer underneath another what did this happen in? A bowl? A pan? Was the pan hot at the time? You need to provide more information. Details.
