Craft beer can be really good but I find that most of the beers are really indistinct. When I drink a shitty Modelo, it tastes like summer, even better with lime and salt, and has a really distinct flavor.

Most of these craft beers have a million different flavors, are extremely heavy or hoppy or bitter. I have happened upon a few though that were absolutely perfect.

Super strong beers are just trending right now. It's "cool" to impress your friends by tolerating something that's unpalatably hoppy or so boozy as to remove all semblance of a beer.

There ARE still plenty of good craft brews being made - and some of them really are IPAs (look for Dogfish Head's 60 Minute) - but you have to find them. I'd highly recommend trying out some micro brew saisons, gruits, sahti, and ESBs.
