Anybody else grill on Labor Day?

>> No.5751449

That sounds like a far too labor intensive activity for such an occasion.

I had plenty of time to sit around, drink beer and prep, so I decided to make Hasselback potatoes

Yeah they were about 20 oz. each. A little fattier cuts of ribeye than I prefer, but they were glorious.

Thank you very much anon

Food looks great. Woulda chose a different beer and maybe another vege myself but if someone served me this I'd be very pleased.

Hot fucking damn that looks good anon. I've never tried roaster garlic on sourdough but I love garlic on pretty much anything so that sounds bretty good. I also would've probably picked a beer other than Dos Equis, but to each their own.

Real talk though those steaks make me horny, good job on the meal.

>> No.5751638

I don't let holidays hold me hostage to tradition.

I eat/cook exactly what I am in the mood for every day.

>> No.5751643

>>5751626
Thanks friend. The Dos Equis was my brother's choice, but it was almost about 100 degrees outside here in Austin, TX today so they actually hit the spot. Some Anchor Steam would have been great though, which is what originally wanted.

>> No.5751644

I'm fairly certain that rare steak and al dente pasta came about from laziness.

Mmmm that stuff is great for how cheap and easy to get it is

>> No.5751658

Thanks for contributing to my thread. I eat what I want every day too. It's part of being an adult.

>> No.5751661

I made brined grilled chicken breasts with a homemade vinegar-based bbq sauce and topped with a little bit of browned chopped pork rib meat and quick-pickled onions & chipotle pepper.

Served it with some grilled potatoes served with a mayo made with grilled scallions, garlic, and chipotle pepper. I put some thinly sliced fried onions on top.

I only have a hot plate and a grill so it took forever, I think I only did it to distract myself because I hate my life.

I'd post a pic but it was plated like a retarded person did it.

oh and I made the mayo myself, not that it's hard just wanted to specify that I didn't just throw some grilled shit into disgusting premade mayo

Also, bbq sauce and quick picklin' recipe!

Nah there's nothing wrong with having fun. If you feel the need to grill on labor day/fourth of july then yeah, look at your life. If you are more inclined to because it's a good time and you want to have friends over and grill out, then there is nothing wrong with that.

Sounds like you have control issues. Do you subscribe to the idea that being an adult means you can also eat popsicles for breakfast and play your game boy in public?
