Why aren't you using pink himalayan salt to benefit from the full spectrum of minerals it provides?

I always use PHS. Bought 2, 1000 gram bags of it while traveling in Euroland a few years ago because it looked interesting and the price was lower than I was paying for average Sea Salt in my local home store. That didn't even matter after all because the people I was staying with ended up paying for the two bags for me when we reached the register. Still on bag #1. Sorry for the shitty webcam pic but that's bag #2.

Because for hundreds of years, obtaining sodium chloride crystals that were as pure as possible and thus white was desirable. Now the in-thing is to go back to polluted salt.

Didn't imply any of that, I'm just pointing out that having minerals in it doesn't make it polluted. By that logic, all food is polluted with vitamins and minerals

what strawman? you're analogising white salt as inferior in nutrition as white rice vs. brown rice. that position suggests one can obtain quantities of nutrition via non-sodium chloride substances in significant quantities from himalayan salt.

you'd have to eat unhealthy amounts of himalayan salt to accomplish this.

I'm saying the claim that wanting "pure" salt rather than salt that has some minerals is as illogical as wanting "pure" rice. I said nothing that could possibly be construed as "you should be eating pink salt as if it were brown rice" or that you should be getting all your minerals from salt. You're creating a false argument out of nothing

If you really want minerals, get a salt blocked used for cattle.

When I was a kid, I would sometimes walk up to a salt block in a corral or pasture, break off a small chunk, and lick it until it was gone.
