Speaking from a pure health standpoint, is there a single reason to eat any meat other than fatty fish (sardines, salmon) 2-3 times a week?

Fish can have significant amounts of pollutants in them. Depends on what sea they lived in.

http://www.nrdc.org/health/effects/mercury/guide.asp

So, specifically from a pure health standpoint, eating nothing but fish for your meat could be very bad or just fine - depends entirely on what fish you eat.

>> No.5670453

From a mental health standpoint, eating the same sort of meal often can lead to depression and irritability, so eating something other than fatty fish as your meat every now and again can stave off that sorta thing.

From a health standpoint no if you upped that to at least one portion a day. As much as I like eggs and meat, in theory a diet made up solely of fish, raw fruit and raw/steamed vegetables is the optimum for health (according to current research.)

Mackerel and trout are other great oily fish btw.

Animal protein has been linked to cancer though, and the package the protein comes in is also important.
