I finally decided to buy a ricecooker since I eat a lot of rice. Especially brown rice which is a pain in the ass to make. I did some research and Zojirushi seemed to be the best choice. The only problem is that I live in Europe and I need to import one from the US. That would all be fine if it wasn't for the voltage difference between EU and US.

What do I do? Are there any other high quality brands with intelligent ricecookers available in Europe? I know I could import a Zojirushi from Asia since they have the same voltage but I'd like it to be in English. The rice cooker must have a GABA brown rice setting.

Leaving rice to simmer for 35 to 40 minutes is a "pain in the ass"?

You are too stupid for words.

There are suppliers for Zojirushi stuff in europe, I just got one recently.

Sorry, but not all of us are NEETs with the time to make GABA brown rice without rice cookers.

Would you care to explain where? I can't seem to find any. I have found a couple in UK which are both overpriced and missing the GABA setting.

It's a rice cooker not a nuclear reactor core.

Have you considered the possibility that you might be retarded?

>> No.5619055

You, sir, are spot on.

The desire to use a rice cooker is a very strong indicator of mental handicap. Eating some stupid healthfag 'germinated grains' shit is a sure sign of severe brain damage.

Zojirushi and other rice cooker companies actually sell "International" version of the rice cookers, with english settings and European voltages, on Rakuten and other Japanese sites

Really try looking on Rakuten though, they have a bunch of different voltages for foreign customers.

But I am not a genius and I can't be fucked to figure out what 6 hard coded buttons do. That is for weeaboos. I'm only going through the trouble of ordering a GABA-capable rice cooker direct from Japan, why should I spend an extra 25 seconds using Google after it arrives?

>> No.5619155

>>5619110

My point is you could have bought one from any store locally for approximately $20 and it will do the same thing.

Mine literally has 4 buttons and makes rice perfect every time.

I'm sorry you spent so much money on a machine you can't even operate, especially when said machine is so simplistic. You have made a fool out of yourself. Good day.

Are you able to set your $20 rice cooker to finish cooking at a certain time?

Does it have cycles specific to brown rice, sushi rice, and congee, as well as a "quick cook" setting that produces cooked rice of slightly compromised quality but at a much faster speed?

If so I congratulate you on your good shopping skills.

>> No.5619181

>>5619161
It does cook brown rice perfectly fine.

It has an auto shut-off feature and then will keep said rice warm for an extended amount of time.

If I am cooking sushi rice I do it the right way on my stove.

I admit I don't know what congee is because I'm not a weeaboo or a gook.

And apparently I lied, I paid $35 at an outlet store where it normally costs around $90.

So my bad on the pricing, but the fact is you imported a fucking rice cooker.

>> No.5619186

you should ask on /g/ they have some quite informative rice cooker threads from time to time there

people will only make fun of you on /ck/ if you are asking for kitchenware this specialized in one task

I didn't import anything.

But I would like to ask why you have a rice cooker if you are not Asian? How often do you actually eat rice?

I have a rice cooker and it does make decent rice.

But my best rice is made with a rice steamer just like the one in the picture.

Not only does it make great rice with minimal effort, it was free except for the postage and handling.

I cook for 6 people every night and often enough rice is a side dish. I do enjoy the rice cooker though.

>>5619234
I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not.

Either way, I make sushi (not pretending to be a master sushi chef here) every once in a while.
