I actually phoned my mom because of this thread, haha. Asked her if there were any foods I didn't like or refused to eat as a child. She said nope. Ate anything she gave us, didn't complain.

It's a prepared brown mustard. I honestly think you're doing better with Grey Poupon for most things. For sausages (bratwurst, polish, italian, etc), I prefer the W-Y Mustard packets that chinese takeout restaurants hand out. It is a great cruelty that the W-Y Mustard is not more readily available.

I used to be a much more picky eater than I am now, but I can't think of anything I couldn't live with. My parents did a decent job of acclimating me to different kinds of foods. When I was growing up, I didn't like zucchini, eggplant, squash, carrots, cabbage, or broccoli.

Then when I grew up and moved out, I found out that my entire childhood my mother was overcooking all of those vegetables, and that when properly prepared, I enjoyed all of them.

It goes to show that if you didn't like something when you were younger, it might not have been the food, but the way it was cooked. Everything is worth giving a second chance when you're older.

Except century eggs. Fuck those fucking things.

was once violently repulsed by tomatoes in any form... would start gagging involuntarily if confronted with them in a dish. (i didn't want to be picky!)

one summer day, i had a fresh margherita pizza and it brought tears to my eyes. i think it's because america has mostly mealy, flavorless tomatoes.

>America has mostly mealy, flavorless tomatoes
This is true. I grew up seeing (not eating) tomatoes from the grocery store, the bigger the better with them, I guess they think. They are grainy and don't taste too hot. I eventually had some good tomatoes, Roma, even cherry tomatoes in salad are good and I started eating them.
One thing I don't like though is a big hearty tomato slice with feta cheese and I think it was red wine vinegar. My girlfriends dad made some as an appetizer before dinner. I forced myself to eat it to be polite. It sounds like something I would eat, vinegar and veggies? Fuck yeah, but it was awful.
2/10, would not eat again.

1. onions, on anything....these days the taste of onions is something i love to death
2. shrimp, i couldn't eat shrimp as a kid because you can basically see what it is, which just looks like a dead boiled bug....gross. over time though i started to love battered shrimp, since you can't see it...and eventually warmped up to cocktail shrimp even though the sight still looks unappatizing to me
3. eggs, as a kid i couldn't eat eggs period, i thought they smelled straight up like FARTS and would hide in my room breathing lightly while my family cooked and ate them, these days i eat them pretty much every day.
