I made a Fool's Gold Loaf for dinner. It's a hollowed-out loaf of french bread coated in butter and filled with 1lb of peanut butter, 1lb of grape jelly and 1lb of bacon. Also known at the "Elvis sandwich."

I managed to eat about 1/4 of it before parts of me started to hurt.

As a European who regularly makes macaroni cheese, here's what to do:

>finely chop a large onion
>grate a fuck load vintage or mature cheddar cheese (I usually end up using 250g+)

>add the milk and onions to the roux and keep whisking until it gets a bit thicker
>while still whisking add in your grated cheese

>add in a little ground pepper and mix it in too
>sieve in the macaroni and put it in a casserole dish
>pour the cheese bechamel sauce over and stir so that it and a macaroni are mixed together
>slice some tomatoes
>place tomatoes on top of macaroni cheese
>top with a mix of parmesan and cheddar
>place in over for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top

Note: I have given a few measurements here but I don't actually measure anything myself becuase I've made it enough that I can accurately guess the right amount of milk I pour in the pot and stuff. So I can't guarantee that the measurements are completely right.

Most of the big companies providing school lunches are taking advantage of super-cheap low quality ingredients and commodity items like beef and cheese, which they actually get paid for using. (Commodity beef is one of the lowest grades of beef that can be fed to humans). I've heard rumors that Sodexo, a French-owned international company, is creating meals with a cost between $0.50 and $1.00. They still get the full reimbursement however, motivating them to make the cheapest shit they can get away with and pocket the difference.

It's really not that uncommon to see parents get their kids these things, because they don't see them as anymore unhealthy than a proper burger, and are convinced their kids are getting nutrients, like MUH PROTEIN, which is one of the most common arguments I hear when a parent is cramming this shit down their throats, that or they "need" to eat to be healthy. For instance, my little sister is mentally disabled, and since it's easy to get her to eat shit food, my dad usually gets her, not one, but two Big Macs when they get McDonald's.

Wrong. Trans fat is from the hydrogenation of Soybean oil aka vegetable oil to make it solid. They most likely hydrogenate vegetable oil because it is cheap. Regular vegetable or soybean oil in liquid form has no trans fats and is not really unhealthy. The only thing that could be considered unhealthy about "vegetable oil" is gmo soybean and the chemicals used to extract oil from soybeans.
