Hi /ck/

I just made a nice striploin steak the same Gordon Ramsay does in this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEx9gPhtjzs

I used lemon thyme, garlic, sea salt and pepper. Looking back, the only thing I would have done differently is let my steak sit out on the counter for more than 20 mins (it was still a bit too raw for my liking in the very middle, ate it anyway).

looking good bruh, the inside looks fine to me. if anything the outside may be a bit overcooked because of excessive pan heat, spots look almost burnt. would still devour.

yeah, i definitely had my pan too hot. what's the best temperature to cook a steak? i heated my pan til high and then set it down to medium/high heat

This would probably have accomplished nothing, unless you'd like to let it sit out for multiple hours.

was the steak cool at all when you laid it down in the pan? you said you wished you'd have let it sit out longer. you may have had the right temp all along and just had to cook it longer to get the desired doneness, if the steak was at or close to room temp you could get the same results at the same temp without cooking it as long which would reduce charring.
