how did humans come to be consuming hot peppers? why weren't they scared of the burning sensaton?

>> No.5578176

Are you scared of the burning sensation when you eat peppers?

>> No.5578179

Its the sensation you body sends out afterwords that's addictive it also was probably useful for cultures that practiced hot/cool foods which was almost everyone at one point or another.

They're healthy as fuck, and not to mention if you eat them enough your body starts getting use to the spiciness.

>> No.5578217

Capsaicin- the chemical responsible for the burning sensation one experiences while eating hot peppers- has anti-microbial. In hotter climates where food spoils more easily, the abundant use of spices would help preserve food. The advantageous food preservation properties of spice would have far redeemed its causing mild discomfort. Further, as time passed, it's obvious that people's palates adapted to the constant dietary intake of spice to a point where it became pleasurable. Definitely, it is know that the body releases endorphins when spicy foods are consumed resulting in a increased state of euphoria.

Yes but it's literally going to cause you discomfort.

You can also eat paraffin wax if you wish, as long as you eat it in small enough amounts it's just carbohydrates, albeit in a form you're not used to and will probably puke straight back up.

Or why not try some hair? The hair of an animal is often simply discarded at the slaughtering stage as being unfit either for textile use or consumption, yet right now you're digesting a significant quantity of your own body's hairs, mostly in the form of internally-grown and naturally shed strands. Why not gather some from other sources and eat a nice hair pie?

Used to have a snacking/junk food problem until I started keeping these in the fridge. Each pepper is only about 3-10 calories. They're not hot but they're packed with flavor. When I feel kind of snacky I just eat one and drink some water. Pretty neat trick.

But they're also packed with sodium, it's really not much of a trick, just a different way to ingest lots of salt.

I remember at school that our instructor brought some special hot sauce. It contained ghost chili, viper chili, and habanero with some dragon fruit juice.
