Happy 4th /ck/

Unfortunately it's raining here today. I'd like to cook some hotdogs and hamburgers but I'm not gonna stand outside in the downpour currently happening.

Can anyone help me by telling me how to cook them in a skillet on my range? Thanks guys!

Yes I did, never done it before because I've always had a grill. I've read use water or butter not sure which.

I have a George Foreman I could use also I suppose, but I have to cook for a good amount of people

Or cook them in my oven?

First thing you do is you put the dogs in the pan with water to cover, and a lid.
Boil them for maybe 5 or 6 minutes.
Pour out the water, add just a little butter and let it melt off-heat, roll the dogs around in it, and put it back on the stove.
Roll them round every so often when the skin starts to bubble and develop brown spots, throw in sauerkraut when they're mostly brown spotted if that's your thing, if not squirt in some brown mustard and a splash of beer, coat em up and serve hot.

Thanks man, will this taste like boiled hotdogs though? My grandma made me hotdogs once when i was a kid and she boiled them in a pot (so they were completely covered with water) and tasted like shit.

What brand of brown mustard do you use? Having trouble finding one I like

OP here, I use Guilden's Spicy Brown, or Grey poupon. I'm gonna be making my own soon though

OP here. How long should I boil the water before adding the hot dogs?

PLEASE do not boil your hotdogs. Only hotdog cart vendors are allowed to do that.

i just score them a few times with a knife and cook till they're how i want them... not really too different from using a grill.

boiling them seems like a waste of time to me.
