That episode where they had Hiroyuki Sakai vs Bobby Flay when he was a nobody, too rigged. All of the judges were American or westerners and Bobby simply catered his dishes towards their palette, while Sakai did the same towards an asian palette.

Flay won and started getting his own shows on Food Network.
Sakai didn't care to make reappearances on this new American Iron Chef.
Morimoto stayed on as a lapdog.
